WD Racing, Will Sahutske Jr Going Full-Time with JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in 2024

Nashville, TN – After a few seasons of dabbling in different forms of racing like quarter-midgets, Outlaw Super Late Models, and Template Bodied Late Models, WD Racing and Will Sahutske, Jr have committed to chasing the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance in 2024. The 35-year-old from Midland, Michigan is gearing up for one of his biggest racing commitments of his career.

Like many other Michigan drivers who have locked in for the upcoming season, WD Racing owner Bill Sahutske says the schedule helps them focus on the JEGS Tour. The team began building their program at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways with an Outlaw Super Late Model in 2016. Over the past several seasons, the Outlaw body was tucked away, and the Template body was put on for various starts in the JEGS Tour and other Late Model Sportsman style events.

Sahutske, Jr’s first official “start” with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour was in 2020 at Jennerstown Speedway. Sahutske was forced to retire from the event 30 laps shy of the scheduled distance due to handling. In 2021, Sahutske again made select starts with the JEGS Tour at Kil-Kare Raceway, Birch Run Speedway, and Berlin Raceway – posting finishes of 13th, 14th, and 12th respectively. Two additional races were added to Suhtske’s JEGS Tour resume in 2023 during the Masters of the Pros 184 at Owosso Speedway and The Big One 100 at Birch Run Speedway.

Bill Sahutske says they have confidence in their program going into 2024 to build off previous finishes as they head to race tracks they have experience with.

“We picked up a new chassis with updated designs from Port City Race Cars,” Bill explained. “We really like the way it handles and works; we feel that we have a pretty good handle on it,” he said.

The 2024 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance schedule will take WD Racing back to tracks they have experience with. Three trips to Owosso Speedway for The Big O Classic 100 paying $10K to win on Saturday, May 25th, the Masters of the Pros 185 for the richest Pro Late Model race in the country at $15K to win on Saturday, August 3rd, and The Iconic Owosso Nationals on Sunday, September 22nd peak WD Racing’s interest as events they could have the most success.

“I think Owosso,” said Bill Sahutske when asked about their best shot for big success. “But it can happen anywhere. I just think Owosso because we went out and took the car out for the first time at Owosso and I thought that until we had a mechanical issue with the car, we ran very well there.”

As for the driver, Will Sahutske, Jr says the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will force him and WD Racing to step up their program.

“Mostly we’re looking forward to the level of competition and experience that [the JEGS Tour] brings,” explained W. Sahutske. “We’re here to develop our late model program as a whole and if you want to be the best, you have to be around the best,” Sahutske said.

The JEGS Tour has already announced over half a dozen full-time drivers for 2024, with over a dozen total confirmed. Sahutske says the cards just fell into place for 2024 to be the year he chases the full Tour.

“[Outlaw cars] didn’t have quite the schedule that we were looking for,” Will said. “So, we decided to make a switch toward template racing and kind of got our feet wet. When the new car became available to us we didn’t know we were looking for it when we found it. No better time than now, we have a piece of equipment we’re happy with, we figure, let’s take a shot at it,” finished W. Sahutske
