Anderson, IN – The seasons are quickly coming to a close for the CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS and the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS (CRA LMS). Left on the schedule is an appearance at Anderson Speedway, twice for the CRA LMS, and the Championship Weekend at Winchester Speedway in October. This Saturday, Anderson Speedway (IN) will host both divisions for a doubleheader showdown.
Both divisions feature an impressive championship points battle that includes the likelihood of a first-time Champion. For the Vore’s Welding CRA LMS, just two points separate Logan Huckeba from overtaking Caleb Reschar. Since his breakthrough win back in April, Reschar has held the top spot in the Championship Points standings, however, consistent performances by Huckeba have kept the Fisherville, KY native in contention for his first Championship. Reschar’s first and only CRA LMS win came at Anderson in the spring, a feather in the cap as he hopes to stretch the lead.
Those two drivers aren’t the only ones in contention for the championship with the CRA LMS. Former Toledo Speedway Sportsman Champion, Greg Stilwell, Jr is still within striking distance. Only 30 points back and fresh off his second top-five of the season, Stilwell is looking for a better performance at Anderson. In his two starts this season, Stilwell has a 9th and 19th place finish at Anderson.
For the CRA Street Stocks, the story is similar. Dalton Conner, who also captured his first CRA sanctioned win in April at Anderson, has held the Championship Points lead since his triumph. Conner, though, already has a Title under his belt thanks to the Four Crown Championship that he wrapped up with another win on August 12th. As for the overall championship, Conner has a comfortable lead over Andrew Teepe and Blain Akin with a 46 point cushion.
