Reschar Collects First Career Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Victory

Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating Produces First Time Winner

Anderson, IN (Monday, April 17, 2023) – For the second consecutive race for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman a first time winner was crowned on Saturday night from Anderson Speedway. Following 75 grueling laps, Xenia, Ohio’s Caleb Reschar inherited the lead at the perfect moment and held off a hard charge from the rest of the field to collect his first career Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS feature win.

Mike Sargent and Charlie Keevan led the field to the green flag to kick off the 75 rotations on the schedule for the Spring Fling 75 Presented by CB Fabricating. Keeven jumped out to the early lead but could only hold it for the first six laps before Castin Everidge made a move to his inside to take the top spot down the backstretch. Everidge put his No.63 at the point on lap seven and set sail.

The first caution for incident came on lap 33 when Greg Stillwell, Jr spun in turn two. Stillwell was able to continue and Everidge survived the restart to keep his lead over the field, however, the caution allowed multi-time track champion, Jeff Marcum to close the gap to the back bumper of Evridge. The pair ran bumper-to-bumper for several laps before finally, on lap 56, something had to give and Marcum made contact with Everidge sending him spinning off of turn number two. As a result, both cars had to go to the tail of the field.

The big benefactor from that incident was Reschar who was riding closely in third. The No.38 took the point and then survived three consecutive restarts that included a spin by Jason Timmerman off the nose of Jeff Whaley II, then contact between Marcum and Curtis Setser II. On the final attempt at a restart on lap 57, Reschar was finally able to set sail and lead the field.

Everidge was able to claw his way back into the top three and finally into the second spot as he attempted to chase down Reschar. His efforts came up short though as Reschar kept a consistent distance between himself and Everidge who finished second, Keevan rebounded to finish third, Marcum fourth, and Timmerman fifth.
