Winners Share Grows to $8000 for Saturday’s Bud St. Amant Memorial 125

Salem, IN. (August 4, 2016) – Spitzer Motor Speedway officials and Gary St. Amant have announced that the winners payoff for this Saturday’s Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance at Spitzer Motor Speedway has now grown to $8000. With the help of Gary St. Amant, Spitzer Motor Speedway is proud to honor one last time local racing legend Bud St. Amant, who passed away in January, 2014 after a long bout with cancer.

 

“We have gained a lot of support for this event in a very short time,” remarked St. Amant. “It’s great to have all these individuals and companies come on board to support Saturday’s race in memory of my father. I have to thank Jimmy Johnson Racing, the Coughlin Family, Team JEGS, Oakley Blacktop, Sweet/Bloomquist Racecars, Earnest Performance, Port City Racecars, Hamke Racecars, Ilmor Engines, VanDoorn Racing Development and Five Flags Speedway for their support of this great event!”

 

The Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 will be 125 laps, counting yellows the first 75, teams cannot lose a lap under yellow. There will be a 10 minute break at lap 75 for teams to add fuel and make adjustments. Only green flag laps will count during the last 50 laps. The event is a four tire race that will pay $8000 to win down to $500 to start.

 

Entries to date for the event include Cody Coughlin, Jack Smith, Phil Bozell, Andy Bozell, Brandon Oakley, Travis Braden, Dakota Stroup, Austin Kunert, Scott Tomasik, Jon Beach, Tristan Van Wieringen, Jay Sommers, Fred Hopkins, Michael Clancy Jr., Jack Dossey III, Hope Hornish, Joshua James, Stephen Nasse, Carson Hocevar, Trevor Noles, Chad Pendleton and D.J. Weltmeyer.

 

There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 12noon with open practice from 1 to 5pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 12noon, there will be a one hour practice session for CRA from 3 to 4pm. Boyne Machine Company Qualifying will begin at 5:15pm. There will be an autograph session starting at 6pm with all the drivers competing in the Bud St. Amant Memorial 125. The race program will begin at 7pm and will include the Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. The rain date if needed will be Sunday, August 7th.
