Special from Speed51.com – The famed Winchester Speedway is set for their 105th season of racing at the high-banked half-mile in 2020, making it one of the oldest active racetracks in the country. The track will take center stage for two traditional events this year.
Once again, Winchester will host the World Stock Car Festival on Labor Day Weekend, with racing on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7 featuring four CRA divisions, Modifieds, and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series. Sunday’s card will feature the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and VCTS features, with the CRA Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks and Midwest Modifieds Tour running heat races. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will also qualify for Monday’s race on Sunday.
It will be all features on Monday at Winchester to conclude the World Stock Car Festival, highlighted by the 100-lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event. It will act as a tune-up for the Winchester 400 in October. The Midwest Modifieds will go 40 laps in the “Run for the BB Gun”, while the CRA LM Sportsman and Street Stocks will also race for 40 laps.
The World Stock Car Festival leads up to one of the crown jewels of Super Late Model racing with the Winchester 400 October 9-11. All six series will be back for the three-day event, with the addition of the Thunder Roadsters. Champions will be crowned in all seven divisions during the weekend.
Friday night will see champions crowned for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series, with the Pro Late Models going 100 laps and the Compacts racing for 25. The CRA LM Sportsman and Street Stocks will also have their 25-lap New Stars features once again.
ARCA/CRA Super Series teams will qualify for the Winchester 400 on Saturday, October 10. Four features will be on tap, led by the “Run for the Gun” 50-lap event for the Midwest Modifieds. The CRA LM Sportsman and Street Stocks will have 40 laps to crown champions, with the Thunder Roadsters will hit the track for 25 laps.
The main event will be on Sunday, October 11 for the 49th Annual Winchester 400, which once again serves as the season finale for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The green flag will drop at 2:00 p.m. ET and a rifle will be given at the end of 400 grueling laps around the high banks. Stephen Nasse put on one of the most dominating performances in Super Late Model history one year ago, leading 392 laps for his first Winchester 400 win.
