Huntersville, N.C. (October 12, 2015) – That’s a wrap! In many ways, the 2015 season was a breakout season for Bremen Kentucky’s Hunter Baize. The 17-year-old driver scored two wins in route to a third place points finish. In addition to a strong rookie season in Super Late Models, Baize made his ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards debut and impressed with two top-10 finishes in two starts. It is only the beginning, and the future is very bright for Baize.
That success caught the eye of Ken Schrader, Baize with primary sponsorship from Federated Auto Parts made his ARCA Racing Series debut at Berlin Raceway (Mich.) in August and finished an impressive 9th. He then returned to the ARCA Racing Series, this time on dirt. He finished sixth at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, “Springfield Mile,” live on national TV, impressing many along the way. Although yesterday wasn’t the end to the season the Hunter Baize Racing team wanted, they left Winchester with their heads held high because they truly had a great year. Baize was involved in an incident just two laps into the 44th Running of the Winchester 400 which ended his afternoon early. Despite a string of bad luck to close out the season, he remains positive and proud of the season he had. The season was highlighted by two wins in the ARCA/CRA Super Series. He won on Memorial Day at Iliana Motor Speedway (Ind.) and then again on August 15, 2015, at Flat Rock Speedway, where he led all but one lap in route to a dominating victory.
“It’s a bummer that our season ended the way it did in the 44th Winchester 400, but we had a great season,” Baize said. “Picking up two wins was the highlight of our season, but in all honesty we had a great year throughout. I can’t thank my guys enough. Van Doorn Racing Development did a great job for me all season long. I’m excited about the future but will also remember the great time I’ve had driving my family owned No. 13 car.”
With the guidance of Van Doorn Racing development led by Johnny and Butch Van Doorn, Baize spent the last two seasons improving and creating a name for himself. The results speak for themselves and prove the move to Van Doorn Racing development was the right one. He is currently working on his 2016 plans and hope to have something to announce shortly.
During the 2015 season, Baize’s Van Doorn Racing Development Pro and Super Late Model race cars will carry sponsorship from Mountaineer All-Natural Firewood, B&K Wood Products, Federated Auto Parts, Bicycle Playing Cards, Kawasaki, Wood-Mizer, and Steel City Bolt.
