Winchester 400 Weekend to be Featured in National TV Broadcast on MAV TV

Vore’s Welding and Steel to be Weekend Presenting Sponsor with Additional TV Support from VanDoorn and Hamner

Winchester, IN – September 11, 2018 – Winchester Speedway announced today that the 47th Annual Winchester 400 Weekend will be featured in a National TV Broadcast on MAV TV.  The event as a whole will air as part of Speed51’s Short Track America program.  The focus of the production will be centered on the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS Winchester 400. Other series racing that weekend will also receive recognition and exposure in the broadcast, as well as the winners from each of those events leading up to the running of the main event…the 47th Annual Winchester 400.

Racing takes place October 12-14 and features action from the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour powered by JEGS, the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks, I-CAR All Star Modified Tour and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series.  All of this racing action over Friday and Saturday, leads up to Sunday’s 47th running of the Winchester 400 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS super late models…where one driver could walk away with a purse check of over $28,000.

A collection of sponsors are assisting with making the broadcast possible, led by long time short track racing supporter Steve Vore, through his business, Vore’s Welding and Steel.  His company will serve as the presenting sponsor for the entire weekend.  “I love Winchester Speedway and short track racers,” Vore noted. “With Vore’s Welding and Steel Inc. serving Western Ohio and Eastern Indiana, it was a perfect fit to sponsor this event.  My hope was to include a deal with MAV TV to broadcast the 400 Weekend.  By doing this, it could benefit not only short track racers, but also their sponsors now and in the future.”

Joining Vore’s Welding and Steel in sponsor support of the Winchester 400 are VanDoorn Racing Development and Hamner Racing Engines.  Both are late model industry leaders in chassis construction and racing engines respectively.  Johnny VanDoorn of VanDoorn Racing Development commented, “Butch and I are thrilled to be a part of bringing all the action from Winchester 400 weekend to a National Television audience.  There is no other race like it in the world, and it is time for the rest of the world to see how special this event is for Super Late Models and all the other divisions as part of the weekend.”

For Jeff Hamner, of Hamner Racing Engines, reasons for supporting the Winchester 400 broadcast were very similar.  “I really wanted to support the racers getting exposure in this effort,” Hamner commented.  “Something like this is great for the event, the track and the community…but more importantly the racers.  We are happy that we can be a part of helping bring about this type of exposure for everyone!”

The broadcast of the Winchester 400 Weekend presented by Vore’s Welding and Steel will air on Wednesday November 21st on MAV TV.  For those who’s cable company might not carry MAV TV, the show will also air on Lucas Oil Racing TV through their website lucasoilracing.tv.

Champion Racing Associations (CRA) R. J. Scott noted, “What a wonderful opportunity for the racers and fans alike to come be a part of all the action at the track, and then get to see themselves about a month later on national TV.  We appreciate all the groups coming together to make this happen.  Its time for the rest of the world to see what happens among the cornfields outside Winchester, Indiana in the Fall.  The camping, parties, and music are all part of the fun that lead up to one of the most exciting events in all of short track racing…the legendary Winchester 400!”

For those who are unable to be on site for the Winchester 400 Weekend presented by Vore’s Welding and Steel, Speed51 will once again be covering all the racing action in their live pay per view.  They will also be covering the event with their popular on-line “Trackside Now.”

Winchester Speedway owner Charlie Shaw cemented everyone’s feeling with his thoughts.  “This National TV exposure is something that we’ve wanted for a while now, and it comes at a great time.  We are just finishing up our conversion from wood bleachers to aluminum bleachers, so fans at the track and at home will really see the improvement in the facility.   This entire Winchester 400 Weekend is so special to so many people, and I really appreciate all these sponsors coming on board to make all of this happen!”
