Wes Griffith Jr.’s Race Team Wins the ARCA/CRA Super Series PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Year Award

Salem, IN (November 14, 2016) – Wes Griffith Jr. started racing with Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS in 2011, the inaugural season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, running all the series events that season and finishing ninth in final series points.  Griffith Jr. raced with that series in 2012 with an eight place point’s finish and in 2013 with a 13th place points finish. From there Griffith Jr. made the move up to race with the ARCA/CRA Super Series, finishing third in series points and winning the series 2014 Rookie of the Year Award. Griffith finished fourth in series points in 2015.

Griffith started off the 2016 season with high expectations with a new crew for his team.  That crew really began to jell about halfway through the 2016 season, starting with his series all-time high finish of second in the prestigious Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway. Griffith Jr. and his crew continued to work hard throughout the year with a never give up attitude. At Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend, Griffith Jr., came from a 20th starting position to finish seventh after making several pit stops with the crew making adjustments on each stop.

At the series next event at Lucas Oil Raceway, Griffith Jr. was fighting an ill handling car in the first part of the 100 lap event. Griffith Jr. came to pit road were the crew made adjustments to get the car to handle better. Griffith Jr. would come from the back of the field to be a part of a huge end of race battle between third through sixth place. Griffith Jr. would use the bottom of the track to make passes on all four positions giving him a hard fought third place finish. Griffith Jr. would finish third in series season Championship points and was the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger of the Year Award winner.

Griffith’s pit crew’s hard work and never give up attitude has earned them the ARCA/CRA Super Series Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Year.

“I really appreciate the recognition for my crew in receiving the 2016 Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Year,” remarked Griffith Jr. “I want to thank my Crew Chief Greg Van Alst for really stepping up and doing a great job for me this season. He was the leader of the crew and set the example for everyone to follow. I want to thank all my crew members this season for their hard work and never giving up!”

Luckett added, “Wes Griffith Jr.’s team worked hard to get their car to the track and prepared for each race, but they also had a never give up attitude, no matter what happened to their cars in a race, they would work to get their car better and help Wes get a good finish.
