Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Begin 2019 Season Saturday at Anderson Speedway

Salem, IN (April 9, 2019) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will kick off their 2019 season, this Saturday at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, IN. The series had their season opening Cabin Fever event at Lucas Oil Raceway canceled because of weather.

 

2019 will be the 13th season of competition for the series that crowned its first Champion in 2006. Past Champions include Keith Sterkowitz in 2006 and 2011, Billy Hutson in 2007, Tony Dager in 2008, Charlie Hanna in 2009 and 2010, K.C. Spillers in 2012 and was the 2017 Drivers Champion, Mark Lambert in 2013, Greg Van Alst in 2014, Jason Atkinson in 2015, Eddie Van Meter in 2016, Jason Neal was the 2017 Owners Champion, Tony Brutti was the 2018 series Champion.

 

Saturday’s race is an excellent opportunity for teams to get laps at Anderson Speedway prior to the series 2019 Triple Crown Series Championship event, which will be at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, August 17th. The Triple Crown Series will feature three 100-lap, $2000 to win events, and a point fund that will pay the Triple Crown Champion $1000. There will also be 2 random draw winners for $500 each from all teams that have attended all three Triple Crown events. The other two Triple Crown Series events will be at Mt. Lawn Speedway on May 26th and at Baer Field Motorsports Park on July 20th.

 

2018 series winners at Anderson Speedway included 2018 Triple Crown Champion Jeff Marcum in the first two scheduled events, including the 100 lap Triple Crown event, and Kent Baledge in the third event.

 

There will be an optional open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday from 4 to 7pm. On Saturday, pit gates open at 12:30pm. Practice will begin at 3pm with qualifying beginning at 4:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 6:00pm and will include a 75-lap feature for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Also racing that night will be the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks in a 75-lap feature and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series in a 30-lap main event.
