Nashville, TN – The next event for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is this Saturday night for the $4,000 to win VanDoorn Racing Development 125 Presented by Monroe County Convention & Tourism Bureau at Flat Rock Speedway. This is the one and only stop for the JEGS Tour at the Metro Detroit facility in 2024 and is the first trip since 2022 when Ethan Stadniczuk was the winner of the JEGS Tour portion of the show.
A total of 20 cars are on the current entry list for Saturday night, with nearly every driver on the card having a legitimate chance to go to Victory Lane. Stadniczuk was the second car across the line in his triumph at Flat Rock Speedway during a combo event with the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS. Kyle Crump took his car to overall and Super Series Victory Lane, so Stadniczuk’s win came with an asterisk. Since then, Stadniczuk has earned an outright win with the JEGS Tour in a battle at Birch Run Speedway last season. The resident of Muskegon cut his teeth at Flat Rock Speedway in various divisions and is one to watch in the return home.
Fans should also keep an eye on drivers who are looking for a JEGS Tour Championship in 2024. Blake Rowe, after his season-opening win at Berlin Raceway, has managed to finish in the top ten in each event since then, however, Carson Hocevar Racing driver, Chase Pinsonneault has made a push for the top spot in his Rookie Campaign, now sitting just two points back of Rowe heading into the weekend. Both drivers will make their Flat Rock debut and each has plenty of laps on tight bullrings.
Barrett Polhemus has been a quiet contender throughout the first four races of the 2024 season sitting third in points just 23 points out of the top spot and 21 points behind Pinsonneault for the Rookie of the Year honors. Polhemus opened the season with a pair of top-five finishes and has doubled up 6th-place finishes in the last two events.
Kevin Cremonesi is back with the JEGS Tour for the first time since the Big O Classic 100 at Owosso Speedway in May. The Rochester Hills, MI native is looking to build on his 2023 career-best finish of third in front of his home crowd. Also racing close to home are Brandon and Evan Varney. Brandon is feeling confident in his No.61 after his first career win at Corrigan Oil Speedway two weeks ago.
Other natives of Metro Detroit include Flat Rock regular, Collin Barron who will make his JEGS Tour debut on Saturday. Fellow Carleton resident, Jeff Vrsek is looking for his breakthrough win with the JEGS Tour. It’s a home game for Clarkston, MI driver, Michael Simko; New Baltimore, MI’s, Keegan Sbilo; Belleville, MI’s Guy Fire, and it’s the second closest race of the season for Holland, Ohio’s David Liaeff.
This is also the closest event to home for the Candian flavor of the JEGS Tour in 2024. Pinsonneault, the native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada is hopeful for his second career win on Saturday in front of his home crowd. Plus, Tyler Mackenzie will drop in on the Tour, also a native of Windsor.
The VanDoorn Racing Development 125 Presented by Monroe County Convention & Tourism Bureau is Saturday, June 22nd at Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, MI.
