Van Wieringen set to Race Against the Best in Monday’s Money in the Bank 150 at Berlin Raceway

(June 7, 2018) – DuroByte Motorsports and driver Tristan Van Wieringen are set to head to Berlin Raceway on Monday for one of the biggest Super Late Model events of the season, the 2nd Annual Money in the Bank 150 Presented by Primera Plastics. The event will be a one day show on Monday with two hours of practice, qualifying, and a last chance race if needed. The event is an ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS sanctioned non-point special event. The event is one of the highest paying Super Late Model events in the country, with a $20,000 first place payoff. The second running of the Money in the Bank will be a 150-lap, six-tire race with Controlled Cautions.

Van Wieringen has attempted to race in two ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS events so far this season, unfortunately he and the team had some bad luck in both events. At the April 7th North/South Shootout event at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, Van Wieringen was involved in a first lap caution that damaged the car too much to continue. The team then head south to the Short Track U. S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 19th and 20th with a brand new car, but a mechanical issue in practice ended their weekend early after being close to the top of the practice charts.

“We’ve started the year off with some bad luck that I’m hoping turns around for us at Berlin Raceway!” remarked Van Wieringen.” We had a brand new car at Bristol, which we had working really well, but unfortunately didn’t get to show it in the race. Berlin is such a tough track we are definitely always working to get better there.”

The 2nd Annual Money in the Bank 150 Presented by Primera Plastics has a started studded field of competitors entered, including NASCAR Star Kyle Busch, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion Matt Crafton, defending Money in the Bank winner Bubba Pollard, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA Racing Series competitor Harrison Burton, as well as top late model drivers Brian Campbell, Johnny VanDoorn, Jeff Choquette, Preston Peltier, Stephen Nasse and Terry Senneker.

“Berlin Raceway is a tough place to get around and there are some great drivers coming which will definitely make for a challenging field,” remarked crew chief Jimmy D Smith. “It’s awesome to have some of the best drivers in the business come and run these late model races. Our drivers learn a lot from racing with them and they bring in fans to support the event!”

Van Wieringen has raced in late models and modifieds since the 2012 race season after racing motocross and Karting before that. Van Wieringen raced with the Top Speed Modified Series during the 2015 season. Van Wieringen ran a limited late model schedule in 2016 that included two ARCA/CRA Super Series events and five JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events. Van Wieringen was Fast Qualifier at three of the five JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events he raced in that season. 2017 saw Van Wieringen race two ARCA/CRA Super Series events, his best finish was ninth at Toledo Speedway in September.

DuroByte Motorsports will campaign Howe Racing Chassis Ford’s again in 2018 for Van Wieringen with support from DuroByte and Nalett Trucking.
