Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Set for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Debut Saturday

Salem, IN (October 27, 2020) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will finish their 16th season of competition this Saturday in the series first ever event on the 5/8-mile oval at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, as part of the huge All American 400 Weekend in the Music City. Saturday nights 50 lap feature winner will receive one of the coveted Guitar Trophies given out traditionally to feature winners at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway events.  

After having several events postponed or canceled because of the COVID 19 pandemic, Saturday will be the tenth event of the 2020 season and the second special non-points event for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2020 season at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on May 30th with a special non-points event that was won by 2017 series Champion Colby Lane. Lane then picked up the series’ first points event win of 2020 at Mt. Lawn Speedway on June 14th. Andrew Teepe got the win at the Indianapolis Speedrome Triple Crown Event on July 11th. 

Brett Hudson won the series Triple Crown event at Shadybowl on July 25th and the Triple Crown event at Anderson Speedway on August 15th. Ryan Amonett got the win in the series event at Mount Lawn Speedway on September 6th. Jason Atkinson got the win in the series Fall Brawl event at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 20th. Hudson picked up his series leading third win of the season in the Pinty’s U.S. Short Track Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 26th. Leading series rookie Brandon Roberts got the win in the series Season Championship event on October 10th at Winchester Speedway, in so doing he also claimed the series 2020 Chase for the Championship. 

Hudson tops a list of talented drivers entered for Saturday night’s event. Besides his series leading three wins in 2020, Hudson is coming off a big win on October 18th in the 32nd Annual Halloween 200 at Salem Speedway, his fifth win in that event. 

2020 series Champion Roberts is entered, along with former series Champions Atkinson, Jeff Lane and Phil Jenkins. 2020 event winners Teepe and Amonett are also entered. Other series drivers entered include Chad Pendleton, J.J. Schafer, Derrick Layne, Josh Sage, Jamie Sites, Jim Brown and Kevin Rabenstein. 

Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Donald Byrns, Richard Dickens and Blaine Akin are entered, Dickens and Akin will be making their series debut Saturday. South Carolina racer Curtis Peeples is entered to make the long haul to race Saturday. Aaron Wilke from Missouri is entered. Jeffrey Belt, who will be contending for the Nashville Limited Late Model 2020 Championship on Friday night, is entered to make his series debut on Saturday night. 

The All American 400 Weekend begins on Friday, October 30 with Super Late Model and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model open practice from 12 to 4pm, followed by a full racing program for the Nashville weekly classes including Bandoleros, Street Stocks, Front Runners, Pure Stocks, Legends, and Limited Late Models starting at 7pm.

On Saturday, October 31, practice will be held in the afternoon with group qualifying for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks and Vores Compact Touring Series at 3:30pm, followed by single car qualifying for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models and Super Late Models for their portions of the All American 400. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and Super  Late Models will also have their All American Showdown events in addition to the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks 50 lap feature and Vores Compact Touring Series 40 lap feature starting at 5:30pm on Saturday.

The weekend will finish up on Sunday, November 1 with the running of the All American 400 presented by Freeman-Webb and Sunoco Race Fuels/Insinger Performance, which will include a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model event and the Super Late Model 300 lap event that is sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series, Cars Super Late Model Tour and the ARCA Midwest Tour. Pre-race ceremonies will begin at 12:00 noon with feature racing beginning at 1:00 PM.
