Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Kick Off 2019 Season at Anderson Speedway Saturday

First Event of the CRA Street Stocks “Road to Bristol”

Salem, IN (April 10, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will kick off their 2019 season this Saturday at Anderson Speedway, located in Anderson, Indiana, after their 2019 season opening Cabin Fever event at Lucas Oil Raceway was cancelled because of weather. Saturday’s Talecris Plasma Resources 75 will be the first of three series events at Anderson Speedway in 2019. The other two will be the Four Crown 200 lap event on June 15th and the 75-lap event on September 28th.

 

2019 will be the series 15th season of competition. Past champions include Dean Baker in the inaugural 2005 season, Joe Beaver in 2006, 2007 and 2009, Bret Miles in 2008, Steve Christman in 2010, Jeff Lane in 2011, Jimmy Kirby in 2012, Dustin Burge in 2013, Jason Atkinson in 2014 and 2015, Colby Lane the 2017 and James Kirby III the 2019 series Champion.

 

Saturday’s race is the first race in the CRA Street Stocks “Road to Bristol” program, Saturday’s winner and second place finishers will have a guaranteed start at the Short Track U. S. Nationals presented by Vore’s Welding at Bristol Motor Speedway on June 1st in the CRA Street Stock A Feature, if they are CRA members and race in the three other CRA Street Stocks “Road to Bristol” events, which will take place on April 27th at Shadybowl Speedway, Salem Speedway on May 11th and Mt. Lawn Speedway on May 19th.

 

2018 Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Anderson Speedway winners included Anderson’s own Josh Poore in the Five Crown 200 lap event in June, Danny Adams in the August event and Jason Atkinson in the September event.

 

There will be an optional open practice at Anderson Speedway this Friday from 4 to 7pm. On Saturday, pit gates open at 12:30pm. Practice will begin at 3pm with qualifying beginning at 4:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 6:00pm and will include the Talecris Plasma Resources 75 for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Also racing that night will be the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman in a 75-lap feature and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series in a 30-lap main event.
