Salem, IN (June 11, 2021) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will continue their 2021 season this Sunday at Mt. Lawn Speedway, located in New Castle, Indiana. The event will pit the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks against the Mt. Lawn Street Stocks in a classic 75 lap event around the tricky oval.
In 2020 the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks returned to Mt. Lawn Speedway for the first time since the 2010 season. Colby Lane came away with the win in the first 2020 series event at Mt. Lawn while Ryan Amonett won the second.
Sunday’s event will be the sixth event of the season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Jason Atkinson got the win in the series season points opener on April 17th at Anderson Speedway. Chuck Barnes Sr. won a special non-points series event at Salem Speedway on April 25th. Atkinson got the win in the Four Crown series opening event at Shadybowl Speedway on May 1st. Chuck Barnes Jr. picked up the win in the GAS/CRA Challenge event at Salem Speedway on May 15th. Atkinson picked up his third win of the season in last Saturday’s Hoosier Daddy 100 Presented by Indy Fuel Four Crown event at Winchester Speedway.
With his three wins and a second in the series four-point events this season, Atkinson comes into Sunday night’s event as the series points leader. Andrew Teepe is in second place, he is 25 points behind Atkinson after coming off a season high second place finish at Winchester Saturday. Jordan Hahn is in third place, he is 71 points behind Teepe. Alan Williams Jr. is in fourth place, he is 30 points behind Hahn. Josh Poore is in fifth place, he is 14 points behind Williams Jr.
J.P. Crabtree got the win in the Mt. Lawn Speedway Fields Auto Parts Street Stocks season opener on May 16th. Kevin Claborn got the win in the in the tracks second Street Stock event of the 2021 season on May 23rd.
On Sunday, pit gates open at 1pm. Practice will begin at 3pm with Allstar Performance Qualifying for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks beginning at 5:30pm. The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Fast Qualifier will receive a $100 cash bonus in Memory of Gibbo Chew. The race program is set to begin at 6:00pm and will include the Van Hoy Oil 75 for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks. Also racing that night will be the Mt. Lawn Speedway Modifeds, Pro Compacts, Stock Compacts, Crown Vics and Vintage Sprint Cars.
