Huntersville, North Carolina (Thursday, August 13, 2015): For the second time this week, 17-year-old Hunter Baize scored a top-10 finish. Last night at the Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo Mich., the Bremen, Ky., native started 12th and drove through the field. Running as high as third with just a few laps to go, he went on to finish sixth. This coming Saturday, August 15th, Baize and his No. 13 Hunter Baize Racing team, led by Van Doorn Racing Development will head to Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.). The 7-UP 125 will be race No. 9 in the season-long chase for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Championship.
Flat Rock Speedway (Mich.) is a (0.250) 1/4-mile bullring owned by Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). Saturday’s running of the 7-UP 125 will feature some of the best drivers in the country, including NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver David Ragan.
Entering Saturday’s race, Baize sits second in both ARCA/CRA Super Series overall points and Rookie-of-the-Year points. He has one win this season, which came at the fast, Illiana Speedway (Ind.) on Memorial Day. In addition to success in the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Baize made his ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards debut at Berlin Raceway (Mich.), on last Saturday, August 8th. He drove the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts / Bicycle Playing Cards car for NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader and his Ken Schrader Racing, Inc., team.
“It has been a very busy week,” Baize said. “We have had solid runs, but I’m ready to pick up a win. I’m confident that my guys will bring me a fast car. Flat Rock (Speedway) (Mich.) is a place I’ve never been, but I am really looking forward to getting on track Saturday.”
Following Saturday’s event, Baize will have the week off before returning to ARCA/CRA Super Series competition at Bear Field Speedway (Ind.), on Saturday, August 22nd.
