Trent Snyder Will Return To Rockford Speedway For Another Attempt At The ARCA Midwest Tour Kar Korner All-Star 100

by Kari Shear-Carlson / June 4, 2016 – “This is so cool…an actual Legend car track!” Those were Trent Snyder’s words the first time he ever raced at Rockford Speedway in the Legend Car Nationals in 1999. When he was informed late models raced on the track as well, his response was, “how is that possible?” In 2007, Snyder raced his first late model event at the track and in 2008 he was the winner of the All-Star 100, which he says was one of the biggest moments of his career.

The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment will return to Rockford Speedway for the Kar Korner All-Star 100 on Saturday, June 11th, and so will Trent. In 2015, Snyder came close to becoming a two time winner of the event, but the 2014 and 2015 ARCA Midwest Tour Champion, Ty Majeski, won the hard-fought battle.

“That was the first time I ever raced against him (Majeski). The race went caution free until seven laps to go, which is different from what I was used to at Rockford Speedway. Our car was pretty good, and I felt we had most of the field covered. I hit the wall a little bit earlier in the race. After that I couldn’t really drive the car as hard as I wanted to. Ty and I got together a few times. I did all I could do to try to get around him to get a win for myself, but there are no hard feelings,” said Snyder.

While Rockford Speedway presents challenges all on its own, going up against the ARCA Midwest Tour is more of a factor for Trent than the track itself. “I think the Tour has always been one of the tougher series in the country. It’s always been filled with top talent, so running well is an accomplishment,” said Snyder.

Snyder is excited to return to Rockford Speedway for the Kar Korner All-Star 100 for several reasons. He used to live near the track and has always adapted to tracks that require the driver to be up on the wheel and never sit back. He hasn’t had many opportunities to race a super late model in the past several years and is looking forward to racing with the Midwest Tour.

As a former winner of the event, Snyder doesn’t necessarily feel there is any more pressure to win the race than there was in 2008. The pressure he does feel, is to win in a super late model against some of the best drivers in the country.

Be sure to make plans for the Kar Korner All-Star 100 at Rockford Speedway on Saturday, June 11th. Spectator gates open at 5:00pm. Qualifying begins at 5:55pm. The green flag will wave at 7:07pm. The ARCA Midwest Tour will be joined by the NASCAR Late Models and RoadRunners.
