TK Racing to Field Car for Lindsey VanDoorn

TK Racing Story – TK Racing is excited to announce that they will field an entry for Lindsey VanDoorn for three races with CRA in 2016, two JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events and one ARCA/CRA Super Series event.

“I’m really looking forward to see what Lindsey can do behind the wheel of our car,” Tom Kmak said.  Kmak, owner of TK Racing, feels his newest driver will be in good hands in her upcoming races.  “I saw how Johnny, Butch and the whole VanDoorn Racing Development team worked with Hunter Baize the last two years and I’m looking forward to seeing how Lindsey progresses throughout the season.”

Lindsey,  who married three time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn in November, is no stranger to short track racing. She started her racing career in the modified division at Spartan Speedway in 2009 before moving to the modified division at the Kalamazoo Speedway in 2010 where she was named Most Improved Driver in 2010 as well as 2011. In 2012, she was a participant in NASCAR’s Drive For Diversity program. In 2012 and 2013, she ran full seasons in the Super Stock division at Kalamazoo as well.  Lindsey moved up to the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in 2014 running a handful of races for Bozell Racing Driver Development.

“I grew up in the racing world watching my dad (Mike Katz) and brothers (Ryan and Aaron Katz) race in the Sprints On Dirt Series and the Auto Value Super Sprints Series.  I’ve seen first hand how much work it takes to race at a high level, first from my dad and brothers, and now with Johnny and Butch and the growth of VanDoorn Racing Development.  This is a great opportunity and I hope to make the best of it!”

Lindsey will be behind the wheel of the Lisa Thomas Salon car for three CRA races in 2016: May 1 at Springport Speedway, August 27 at Flat Rock Speedway and September 10 at Owosso Speedway.
