The High Banks of Salem Speedway up Next for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Salem, IN (June 13, 2018) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will continue its eighth season of competition this Saturday with the Midwest 100 on the High Banks of Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery. Saturday will be the fifth JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Salem Speedway. Former event winners include Cody Coughlin who won in 2013 and 2016, each time going on to claim the series Championship, Grant Quinlan who won as a rookie competitor in 2014 and Jack Smith who won last season’s event.

 

The series opened its 2018 season at Birch Run Speedway on April 29th were Michigan veteran Brian Campbell picked up the victory. The series second event was the Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 18th, were Josh Reeves came away with the victory, his first ever win with CRA. Georgia hot shoe Bubba Pollard won the series third event of the season, the Masters of the Pro’s 200 last Friday at Birch Run Speedway.

 

DGR-CROSLEY Rookie of the Year candidate Mason Keller comes into Friday night’s event as the series Championship point’s leader and the DGR-CROSLEY Rookie of the Year point’s leader after three series events so far in 2018. The former Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stock competitor has competed at Salem Speedway in that series in 2017. 2017 series Champion Jack Dossey III is now second in series points, he is just two points behind Keller. Dossey finished second to Smith in last year’s Salem event and made his ARCA Racing Series debut at Salem in April. Mandy Chick is in third place in series points, she is 10 points behind Dossey III. The top three in points are all entered for Saturday night’s event.

 

Other top entries for Saturday night includes 2017 winner Jack Smith, who also has two series wins at Winchester Speedway. Borden, Indiana’s Cole Williams who won last year’s series Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway event and the 2017 Masters of the Pro’s event. Current ARCA/CRA Super Series points leader Josh Brock, who picked up his first ARCA/CRA Super Series win on May 5th at Anderson Speedway. Brock won a Ken-Ten Pro Late Model event at Salem Speedway.

 

New Jersey racer Joe Graf Jr. is entered for Saturday night’s event. Graf finished 11th in the April 22nd ARCA Racing Series event at Salem. Michigan racer Nate Walton is entered, he has been a regular at Berlin Raceway for several seasons. Also entered are Zachary Tinkle from Speedway, Indiana and Trever McCoy from Caldanie, Michigan, he made his series debut in last year’s Midwest 100.

 

Saturday’s event has attracted a great group of local talent besides Williams. Also entered are Louisville, Kentucky native Trey Craig, Owensboro, Kentucky natives Dakota Stroup and Blake Hillard and Stanford, Kentucky native Jared Smith. The local Indiana area is also well represented with former series Winchester winner Corey Deuser from Lanesville and New Albany’s Brett Robinson, son of former Salem Late Model competitor Todd Robinson.

 

 

There is an open practice on Friday at Salem for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, pit gates open at 3:30pm, open practice will go from 5pm until 7pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 1pm, the series will have two 30 minute practice sessions beginning at 3:55pm. Lisa Thomas Salon Qualifying will take place at approximately 6:30pm. The race program is set to begin at 7:15pm and will include the Midwest 100 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing that night will be the Salem Speedway Lucas Oil Great American Stocks in a 50 lap feature and the Salem Front Wheel Drive Stocks in a 25 lap feature.
