Salem, IN (November 1, 2017) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials are pleased to announce that Team Construction has agreed to continue its sponsorship of the Team Construction Clean Sweep Award with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS for the upcoming 2018 race season, the 22nd season of competition for the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
The Team Construction Clean Sweep Award will consist of a $200 cash bonus if an event’s fast qualifier can also win that same event. If the fast qualifier fails to win, the $200 cash bonus is then rolled over to the next event until an events fast qualifier wins that same event. After a fast qualifier wins, the award starts over again at $200. 2018 will be the ninth straight season Team Construction has sponsored the Clean Sweep Award with the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
“We have really enjoyed sponsoring this unique award with the ARCA/CRA Super Series,” remarked Team Construction President Donnie Mingus. “We decided to double the bonus for the award beginning in 2017, and it worked out great, some racers got to collect some big bonuses during the season. We have enjoyed our involvement with CRA the past eight years and look forward to a great 2018 season!”
During the 2017 season, the Team Construction Clean Sweep Award was won a record five times. Johnny VanDoorn collected a $1000 bonus at the May 6th Anderson Speedway event. The award was then won on August 10th at Kalamazoo Speedway by Travis Braden, where he collected $1,200. Brian Campbell collected a $400 award on August 26th at Berlin Raceway. Dalton Armstrong won the award and a $200 bonus on Labor Day Weekend at Winchester Speedway. VanDoorn collected his second award of the season on September 16th at Toledo Speedway, this time it was worth $200.
The Team Construction Clean Sweep Award for the ARCA/CRA Super Series 200 lap event with CRA SpeedFest 2018 at Crisp Motorsports Park, home of Watermelon Capital Speedway, on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 will be worth $400, with the $200 carry over from the 2017 season.
