Salem, IN (September 21, 2020) – Auburn, Indiana’s Tanner Jack powered by leader Jake Hinton on the inside coming out of turn four on lap 35 to go on and get his first ever Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS win of the season in the Fall Brawl 40 at Lucas Oil Raceway on Sunday afternoon. The win was Jack’s first ever CRA win, joining his brother Hunter as a CRA winner, Hunter picked up a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour win in 2019. The CRA Fall Brawl events have become a very popular with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves.

Two-time 2020 series winner Austin Coe grabbed the early lead from his outside pole starting position after 2007 series Champion and Allstar Performance Fast Qualifier Billy Hutson drew a six for the events inverted start. Jake Hinton came from his fourth-place place starting position to pass Coe for the lead on lap 4, Hinton was making his series debut.
The events only caution flew on lap 22 when Neil McClelland’s car made hard contact with the wall in turn four after a rear end issue. Hinton would get the lead back at the drop of the green flag on lap 23, but Jack was already starting his march to the front from his eighth place starting position.
With Hinton on the top and Jack on the bottom, the two battled for several laps with Jack just not able to make the inside work. Finally, Jack dived to the bottom hard in turn three, the car stuck, and he was able to make the pass coming out of turn four to grab the lead on lap 35. Jack would pull away to win by almost a half second over Hinton. For his pass of Hinton for the lead and the win, Jack picked up the AR Bodies Cool Move of the Race Award. For his hard-fought battle with Jack, Hinton was awarded the KRJ Race Products Sweet Move of the Race Award.
Hutson would finish in third. Eric McGlothlen finished in fourth in his 2020 series debut. Coe would finish in fifth place.
Jack was already locked in to the four Chase for the Championship drivers, who will compete for the series 2020 Championship at the Season Championship event on Saturday, October 10th of Winchester 400 Weekend as the regular season Champion. Coe is also locked in with his win in the Chase opener at Mt. Lawn Speedway on September 6th. 2007 series Champion Billy Hutson, Cassten Everidge, Kent Carson, and Cory Adams will be racing for the other two positions in the final four drivers to race for the series 2020 Championship, this Saturday in the third Chase event at Anderson Speedway.
