Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 Next For Matt Hall

Second trip of 2015 to Anderson Speedway for Great Lakes State rookie

Newport, Michigan (Thursday, July 16, 2015): The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS is one of the toughest touring series’ in the country. Something that is not lost on 2015 Rookie of the Year title contender, Matt Hall. While sitting place overall in the points standings, he’s also third in the chase for the 2015 freshman title behind Grant Quinlan and Hunter Baize, both of who also are one and two in the overall points standings. While Hall knows he has work to do catch the two teenagers, he knows a golden opportunity awaits in one of the biggest races of the season.

The Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 is set for Saturday, July 18th at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway (IN) in Anderson, Indiana. This event is also the second race within the JEGS/CRA $100,000 Super Late Model Triple Crown Series. A fact that Hall knows too well. The 22-year-old knows that a solid finish, perhaps a top five would propel his season into the right direction moving forward.

“Well after a disappointing trip to Columbus we are looking ahead to Anderson where we struggled a bit after having a rough first outing at Toledo and then jumping right into Anderson with a borrowed motor and not fully prepared.” Explained the Newport, Michigan driver. “After testing and working more with Kyle Jones Racing (KJR) we have learned something’s that did shed some light after having a pretty good car at Columbus leading up to qualifying before the race got rained out.” He added.

In his last race at Anderson, back on April 26th in the Madison County Community Health Centers 125, he qualified 11th and would finish 15th after contact with another car damaged his machine and he was forced to pit multiple times for repairs. “We found speed at Anderson back in April, but it was just too late in the weekend. We feel that we will be much better when we unload on Thursday for practice and leading into Saturday for our first start in the Redbud.”

He then added; “We have been constantly looking for ways to improve our program and it seems things are changing for the better. If we can keep our nose clean for 300 laps I believe the results will follow when heading to a track like Anderson.” Hall explained. “After sitting out the first Triple Crown series race at Berlin and then getting rained out at Columbus I am anxious to get back behind the wheel.” He ended.

Five races into the 2015 campaign, Hall is sitting sixth overall in points and third in the rookie of the year title chase. He scored his first top 10 finish of the season at Illiana Motor Speedway (IN) on Memorial Day Monday, May 25th in the ARCA/CRA portion of the Calypso Lemonade Chicagoland Shootout. Four of the five races he’s taken the green flag in have resulted in at least a top 15 finish.
