Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, August 5, 2015): The Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, IN, for the eighth race of the season for the series and the final of four series events at Anderson Speedway in 2015.
Jason Atkinson is the current series Season Championship point’s leader for the CRA Street Stocks after eight events. Atkinson, the 2105 CRA Triple Crown Series Champion, lost a lot of points in the series last two events at Lucas Oil Raceway, on July 3 Atkinson broke in the final practice/qualifying round and didn’t get to start the feature and he suffered a mechanical failure in last Friday’s 125 lap series event resulting in a DNF, Atkinson still maintains a five point lead. Atkinson has two series wins so far in 2015, a 75 lap feature win at Anderson Speedway on June 13th and the Triple Crown 200 lap finale on June 27th at Anderson.
Josh Poore is currently second in series Season Championship point’s, and is still seeking his first series win of 2015, he is currently leading the Anderson Speedway Street Stock season points with two straight victories. Jake McElfresh is in third place in series points, he is 10 points behind Poore. Colby Lane is in fourth place, he is 31 points behind McElfresh. Lane picked up his first ever series victory in the Triple Crown 200 lap event at Shady Bowl Speedway on April 18th and won the season opening Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County Street Stock on April 24th. Mason Keller is in fifth place, only three points behind Lane. Keller picked up his first ever series win in the Triple Crown 200 lap event at Kentucky Motor Speedway on May 24th.
Other CRA Street Stock winners in 2015 include Robert Amos Jr. in the series event at Anderson Speedway on May 9th, 2012 series Champion Jimmy Kirby at Lucas Oil Raceway on July 3rd and Chuck Barnes Jr. in the 125 lap series event at Lucas Oil Raceway last Friday night.
Gates open on Saturday at 3:30pm. Practice is set to begin at 5pm with qualifying for the CRA Street Stocks at 6:30pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include the 75 lap feature for the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS. Also in action will be the Anderson Speedway Marcum Welding Pro Compacts and Harts Auto Figure 8’s.
