North South Super Late Model Challenge – 75 Lap Starting Lineup
Good morning from Nashville Tennessee. Today is race day number two of Track Enterprises’ North South Super Late Model Challenge Presented by Team Construction at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Last night the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and Southern Super Series Presented by Sunoco ran 50 lap features each. Those two 50 lap features determined the starting lineup for today’s 75 lap feature.
Sixteen cars started the ARCA/CRA Super Series feature. Tyler Ankrum (58) was the fastest ARCA/CRA Super Series driver in qualifying. Ankrum started 8th on the grid after the invert, placing Brian Bergakker (12) and Dalton Armstrong (4) on the front row. One caution flag slowed the race when Mason Mingus (98) and pole sitter Bergakker got together in turns three and four. Dalton Amrstong, who took the lead on lap one, never looked back. Though Travis Braden (26) made a late race charge to the front, Armstrong was able to hold the lead for all 50 laps taking the Sunoco checkered flag first. Travis Braden finished second, Zane Smith (77) third, Boris Jurkovic (53) forth and rounding out the top five was Cody Coughlin (1).
Oklahoma driver, Donnie Wilson (2W) took the mid-race lead from North Carolina’s Stephan Wallace (66) in route to winning the Southern Super Series 50 lap feature event last night.
Today’s 75 lap combined, ARCA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series, feature event’s lineup was determined by last night’s finishing order. A coin toss in the drivers meeting determined the ARCA/CRA Super Series would get the inside row and the Southern Super Series was awarded the outside row. The top four finishers in each feature redrew for starting positions one through eight. Luck was on Stephan Wallace’s side as he drew the number one pill and will start on the pole of tonight’s feature along side Bubba Pollard (26P). View: Starting Lineup
