Spitzer Motor Speedway Makes Changes to Bud St. Amant Memorial Weekend

Event to Focus on Larger JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Event Instead of Hosting Both CRA Series

(Mansfield, OH) – Full Throttle Racing Promotions LLC announced today that they have made changes to the Bud St. Amant Memorial Weekend at Spitzer Motor Speedway in Mansfield, OH. The event, as originally scheduled, had both an ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS race and a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race on the same day.  Track officials have decided to move their plans for a big Super Late Model event into 2017, and focus solely on having a bigger, stand alone JEGS series event on their Saturday, August 6th date this year.

With the change comes an increase purse at every position in their JEGS Series race, with a minimum $5000 to win and $500 to Start.  The race now goes from 100 laps to 125, with a break for adjustments at lap 75.

Competition Director and partner in Full Throttle Racing Promotions LLC Chris Mize commented, “We’ve looked at this weekend many different ways, and the bottom line is that we are committed to it being a very successful event.  In the end, we felt like we could do a better job focusing on one race, than trying to do the two races together.  I think the old saying applies here, that our eyes were bigger than our stomach when we originally scheduled this, and our excitement going into the first year of operation may have led to that.  At this point, we just want to do a good job for everyone, and we feel focusing on just having a bigger JEGS tour race is in the best interest of everyone involved.  With this change, however, comes an even bigger focus for us preparing for a major Super Late Model race with the ARCA/CRA Super Series in 2017.”

Mize went on to say, “We really appreciate Gary St. Amant’s support in helping us make all this happen, as well as thanking all the supporters he has gathered for the weekend.  We look forward to honoring the memory of his father in a fun and exciting fashion that everyone would expect!”
