Smith Wins 2021 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award

Salem, IN (November 5, 2021) – Winchester 400 winner Sammy Smith has won the 2021 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award after eight ARCA/CRA Super Series point events during the 2021 race season. Smith gained a total of 22 positions in the series point events he participated in during the 2021 season. Smith gained his most positions at the July 12th Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway, where he came from his 17th starting position to finish second, gaining 15 positions earning a Hoosier Race Tire Performance Award and the Progressive Racing Engines Hard Charger Award for that event. Smith also gained five positions in his Winchester 400 victory. 

The Platinum Motorsports Team would finish in second place in the 2021 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger standings with 19 gained positions between drivers Kody Swanson and Jack Smith. Swanson picked up 13 of those gained positions in the Redbud 400 where he came from his  19th place starting position to finish in sixth.

2019 series Champion Greg Van Alst would finish in third place with 13 gained positions during the 2021 season. Stephen Nasse was fourth with eight gained positions. Josh Ebbert was fifth with five gained positions. 

Cometic Gasket, the Official Gasket of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, will award an $800 cash bonus to 2021 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award winner Sammy Smith and the Wilson Motorsports Team. A driver must be in the top 15 in series points.
