Huntersville, N.C. (September 2, 2015) – If you were to ask Cole Rouse what his favorite racetrack was, he would tell you Winchester Speedway (Ind.). The (0.500) 1/2-mile high-banked speedway is one of the most historic racing venues in the country and one that separates the men from the boys. For 18-year-old Rouse, the thought of racing at Winchester Speedway (Ind.) is exciting. Sunday’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event, as part of the Labor Day Holiday Weekend World Stock Car Festival weekend, quite possibly could be his best shot to go to victory lane this season.
It hasn’t necessarily been a “dream” season for the Arkansas teenager. However, he didn’t let bad luck early in the season affect his confidence. Rouse continued the pursuit of perfection, which in racing may be an oxymoron, but that’s the mindset of a championship-winning driver, something the young driver yearns for in the future. His last two races, both of which took place at I-44 Speedway located in Lebanon, Mo., resulted in top-five finishes. He beat some of the best talent in the Midwest to capture those finishes, including NASCAR’s Kenny Wallace.
This weekend, Rouse returns to JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance competition poised for a career weekend. Winchester Speedway located in Winchester, Ind., will once again play host to the event. Last season as a rookie, he finished eighth in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour portion of the Labor Day Holiday Weekend World Stock Car Festival.
“I have always enjoyed racing at Winchester (Speedway) (Ind.),” Rouse said. “It’s a track that I’ve just always had a knack for, I’ve always seemed to have speed there.”
“I’m hoping we can continue to build on our solid month of August,” he continued. “My team has stuck together, and we are starting to gel. Kevin (Crider) has a great set up for these high-banked tracks, and I expect to be very competitive this weekend as we return to the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.”
Although already September, Rouse and his No. 20 team do not plan on slowing down anytime soon. They still have many events on the docket. Expect to see the No. 20 Rouse Custom Homes / Kevin Crider Motorsports Late Model at several more races as the season begins to wind down.
