Third CRA Late Model Sportsman Series event in three weeks highlighted by return trip to LOR
Auburn, Indiana (Friday, May 8, 2015): Everyone’s first time racing at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile high-banked paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana is definitely an experience. The tight confines and fast speeds at the central Indiana speed plant provide some close quarters racing as realized by 14-year-old Hunter Jack, a contender for the Rookie of the Year title in the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series Powered by JEGS. After qualifying fifth quick, the Hoosier State teenager made the most of a rough race to post a ninth place finish.
With little time to reflect on his first outing at Anderson, the Brent Jack Racing Team is right back in action on Friday, May 8th with the longest race to date of Hunter Jack’s budding career: The LOR 125 at the immaculate Lucas Oil Raceway, located west of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana for the second CRA Late Model Sportsman Series points race of the season as well as the second Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series Presented by Visit Hendricks County event of the year.
“We had a rough night figuring out the quarter mile track, but we feel like we can do better next time we go back there next month.” Stated the Auburn, Indiana teenager as he and the crew prepare for the extended distance 125-lap race around the big 0.686 mile semi-banked paved oval. “I’m really looking forward to getting back to LOR and get some stuff figured out from the last time we raced there.
So far in 2015, Jack has accumulated two top 10 finishes with a season high of a seventh which came at the Circle City speed plant back on April 24th. Jack sits ninth overall in CRA Late Model Sportsman Series points while also sitting seventh in the LOR Stock Car Series standings.
In addition to running the entire schedule within the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, Jack will also race as often as possible at Angola Motorsport Speedway (IN) as well as at Baer Field Speedway (IN) in each tracks weekly Late Model Sportsman division on CRA off weekends. In addition, the teenager looks to make a handful of starts in one of his Dad’s Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models as well as an appearance or two in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.
