Salem, IN (July 7, 2021) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Angola Motor Speedway, located just outside of Angola, Indiana, in the Shepherd’s Family Auto Group 75 Presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel, which will pit the best of the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman against the best of the Angola Motor Speedway Everage Auto.com Late Model Sportsman. Saturday’s event will be the first time the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman have raced at Angola Motor Speedway since August 10, 2014, when Shawn Amor went to victory lane over Brandon Barcus in a 50 lap series feature event.
Jeff Marcum picked up the win in the series 2021 season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17th, leading 74 laps of the 75-lap event. Austin Coe picked up his first series win of the 2021 season at the series second event at Mt. Lawn Speedway on May 23rd, holding off a hard charging Billy Hutson to get the close win. Cassten Everidge picked up his first ever series win in the series last event on June 5th at Winchester Speedway and is now locked into the series 2021 Chase for the Championship as long as he races in 70% of the remaining series events leading up to the Chase.
With his win Everidge took over the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman points lead after three events in 2021. Two-time series Champion Billy Hutson is in second place, he is five points behind Everidge. J.P. Crabtree is in third place, he is one point behind Hutson. Ronnie Rose in in fourth place, he is six points behind Crabtree. Rookie Kyle Worley is in fifth place, he is 14 points behind Rose.
Veteran New Haven, Indiana racer Tommy Cook went to victory lane in last Saturday night’s Angola Motor Speedway Everage Auto.com Late Model Sportsman feature event over Tony Dager and Jeremy Wallen. Cook is the points leader for the Angola Motor Speedway Everage Auto.com Late Model Sportsman, Evan Park is in second with Wallen in third place.
There is an open practice at Angola Motor Speedway on Friday from 1pm to 7pm. Pit Gates open on Saturday at 1pm. The CRA Late Model Sportsman will have two practice sessions starting at 2:30pm. Allstar Performance Qualifying is set to begin at approximately 5pm. The race program will begin at 6pm and will include the Shepherd’s Family Auto Group 75 Presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS. Also racing Saturday will be the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models, the Vore’s Compact Touring Series and the AMS Modifieds, Street Stocks and FWD’s.
