Two-Time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion heads back to Buckeye State capital with Bill Burba Motorsports
Wheeling, West Virginia (Thursday, September 10, 2015): For Travis Braden, the 2015 racing season has been one of diversity. Highlighted by his thrilling victory in his ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards debut in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 Presented by Federated Car Care at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on July 24th, the 21-year-old standout has also been racing for Bill Burba Motorsports in their quest for the 2015 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Owners Points Championship.
Since taking over the controls of the #26 Platinum Express / Chevrolet for Bill Burba Motorsports beginning with the third race of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season, Braden has given the team a new wave of confidence and a comfortable Owners Points Standings lead heading into the final three races of the year. In the last JEGS/CRA race at the legendary 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway (IN), Braden overcame a flat tire and charged his way to a third place finish extending Burba’s Owners Points lead in the process.
Now Braden gets to go back to his ‘home track’ of sorts where he was the 2011 Track Champion and compete once again in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS where he is the reigning Two-Time Series Champion. The 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked, circular shaped paved oval of Columbus Motor Speedway, located southeast of Columbus in Obetz, Ohio will host the 2nd Annual Bud St. Amant Memorial 125 Presented by Oakley Blacktop on Sunday, September 13th. Braden is the defending race winner in this event having gone to victory lane in his own #01 West Virginia University / Chevrolet.
This time around, the WVU ride will be parked and saved for the upcoming 44th Running of the Winchester 400 on October 9-11th at Winchester, so Braden, knowing that crate motored car comes with its advantages at the Buckeye State speed plant, will utilize the #26 from the Burba stable as he attempts to repeat his victory from a year ago in the prestigious race.
“Can’t wait to be back at the Bud St Amant memorial. So far, Gary (St. Amant) is undefeated in his father’s memorial race. Last year it was with me driving, and this year I really see two drivers in the field who could bring it home to him again this year. Quinton Bear and myself again.” Offered the Wheeling, West Virginia star. “Although Gary won’t be calling the shots for me this time, he is still such a big part of what successes I have had and if I would win I would still attribute a lot of it to him. So hopefully we can pull it off again this year.” He added.
In just three ARCA/CRA Super Series appearances in 2015, primarily in his own car, Braden has one top five finish, which was a fourth place effort at Toledo Speedway (OH) back on April 11th. His primary obligations this year have been in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and since taking over the controls of the #26 machine which was driven in the first two events by veteran, Mike Stacy, Braden has acquired four top five finishes including a strong second place showing at Berlin Raceway (MI) on August 1st.
In his six starts, all of those have resulted in at least a top 10 finish and he also scored a Fast Qualifier award, which came at Auto City Speedway (MI) on August 8th. While the Bill Burba owned team is leading the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Owners Points Standings, Braden himself is actually tied for sixth in the Drivers Points chase and just 14 markers out of a coveted top five placement.
The Bill Burba Motorsports owned #26 Chevrolet has primary sponsorship from Platinum Express. In addition to Braden’s West Virginia University decals, more sponsorship support and stickers also comes from Braden’s A-1 Towing & Collision as well as West Chester Permits, Brands Truck Insurance, Burba Trucking and M.P.H. Promotions.
