Popular “New Stars” Features for L. M. Sportsman and Street Stocks Return to Winchester 400 Weekend

First Timers Bonuses will also be Available for CRA Support Divisions

Salem, IN (September 21, 2016) – Two of the year’s most popular events are making their return to Winchester 400 Weekend.  The “New Star” Features for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be raced on Friday night, October 7th.  The only eligible drivers for these races will be drivers or teams that have not had a top 5 feature finish in 2016 at Winchester or a top 3 feature finish at Winchester in their respective divisions or higher, going back to 2007.  Drivers who are primarily known for racing in higher divisions will also not be allowed to drop down regardless of their previous finishes.  CRA officials reserve the right to deny participation in these events to anyone to maintain the integrity of the event and ensure a quality show for the promoter.

The payout for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman special event will be: $400-250-200-175-150-125-100-90-80-75 on out. The payout for the CRA Street Stock special is $300-200-175-150-125-110-100-90-80-70-60-50 on out. Hunter Jack won the CRA Late Model Sportsman New Stars event last year, Tyler Marsh was the CRA Street Stocks New Stars winner.

In Saturday’s Season Championship 50 lap Features for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks, a “First Timer’s Bonus” program will be paid to the top three finishers in each division who are making their first start at Winchester Speedway in 2016 (Friday’s activities excluded). The bonuses are paid on top of the position payoff they earn, and will be $100, $50, and $30.

“These New Stars Features on Friday are lots of fun,” commented CRA’s R. J. Scott. “It’s more special because we get to see new faces competing for the victory. And, as I’ve said before, it’s also another great way for people with limited experience at Winchester to come and get the good racing experience they all really need and want, without the pressure of being a point’s race.”

Scott further noted, “We also have bonus monies on the line for Saturday’s Championship features in both divisions for people that haven’t raced at Winchester this year.  If you haven’t raced at Winchester this year, it’s the perfect time to come race, earn extra money and be a part of the legendary Winchester 400 Weekend.”
