James “Jim” A. Schlewitz, 62, Wausau, died Saturday, December 15th, 2012 surrounded by his family. Jim battled Multiple Myeloma for the last 14 years. He was originally given 2-4 years to live, but greatly exceeded those expectations.
Jim had always had an avid love of racing and classic cars. In recent years he found enjoyment in helping sponsor his good friend Mark Kraus in the Midwest Tour racing series. Jim was very passionate about racing and supportive of Mark and the series. You could find him in the front row at every event he attended. “Jim was such a big part of not only our race team, but our family. He had also become a part of our son, Mark’s, go kart team,” said the Kraus’s. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
