‘Nationals’ Spotlight for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Sunday at Owosso

Owosso, MI (September 20, 2024) – The title fight continues with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour as the penultimate race goes green on Sunday, September 22nd at Owosso Speedway. Four drivers head into the Owosso Nationals with dreams of being Champion. Blake Rowe (No.71), Chase Pinsonault (No.14) Barrett Polhemous (No.79), and Chase Burda (No.18) know 150 laps could seal their fait or give them a chance at hoisting the championship trophy.

Chase Burda heads into the event -67 points back. He’ll need to win in Owosso and possibly Winchester if he looks to be a back-to-back champion. Burda has one win on the season that came from Flat Rock Speedway. Since his victory, it’s been a struggle to get the finishes needed with late-race run-ins derailing strong outings.

Chase Pinsonault rolls in -35 points. Pinsonault grabbed a win at Owosso in the Big “O” Classic back in May but ran into a power steering issue in the Masters of the Pros. The young Canadian driver looks hopeful for redemption with two races remaining.

Then comes ‘Mr. Consistent’ in Barrett Polhemous. The Texan driver entered the season with little experience racing at Michigan-based tracks. Despite not grabbing a victory, he leads the rookie standings and trails the championship leader by 29 points. Polhemus rolls into Owosso with hopes riding on a strong finish.

Then there is Blake Rowe. Rowe won the points-paying season opener in Berlin and the most recent race at Birch Run Speedway but the leader has fallen into trouble with late-race incidents at Whittemore, and Owosso last August. Does the late race clashing continue or does victory loom ahead of the TK Racing 71?

Owosso Speedway has been a beacon of energy for Michigan racing. After two star-studded races a third event welcomes 30 drives to compete for fifteen thousand dollars. The teams will have to strategize with a 6-tire limit, 150 laps, and a competition yellow if the race runs 50 laps without a caution.

The night before, an event to showcase talents of up n coming racers takes place in the “New Stars” race. Talent in Evan Varney, Keegan Sobilo, and Dylan Stovall will have their work cut out for them as veterans like Bob Varney and David Simko take to the track in hopes of reliving glory.

So many stories ready to be written as the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour gears up for the green flag at Owosso Speedway for the 2024 Owosso Nationals.
