Salem, IN (May 20, 2021) – The Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Sunday at Mt. Lawn Speedway, located in New Castle, Indiana for its one and only event there in 2021. Last season Jeff Marcum got the win in the first of three series events at Mt. Lawn in 2020. Austin Coe picked up two wins including the Raintree 100.
Marcum picked up the win in the series 2021 season opener at Anderson Speedway on April 17th, leading 74 laps of the 75-lap event. James Kirby finished in second in that event with Ronnie Rose in third place.
Marcum comes into Sunday’s event as the points leader for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Kirby is in second place, he is three points behind Marcum. Rose is in third place, three points behind Kirby. Tommy Cook is in fourth place, he is two points behind Rose. Defending series Champion Billy Hutson is in fifth place, he is two points behind Cook.
CRA will post a $100 bonus to the highest finishing driver in Sunday’s Mt. Lawn Speedway event that raced at Angola Motor Speedway or Shady Bowl Speedway this Saturday night. CRA will make it a $500 bonus if one of those drivers can win on Sunday! Must have raced a Late Model this Saturday night at either of those tracks to be eligible for the bonus.
Pit Gates open on Sunday at 1pm. The CRA Late Model Sportsman will have two practice sessions starting at 3pm. Allstar Performance Qualifying is set to begin at 5:30pm. The CRA Late Model Sportsman Fast Qualifier will receive a $100 cash bonus in Memory of Gibbo Chew. The race program will begin at 6pm and will include the Vore’s Welding 75 for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS. Also racing Sunday will be the Mt. Lawn Speedway Modifieds, Street Stocks, Stock Compacts, Crown Vics and Champ Karts.
