Special from Speed51.com – Only a handful of spots remain on the “Select Team” for the inaugural Speed51 Super Select at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on September 8. Speed51.com, Track Enterprises and Champion Racing Association (CRA) officials announced Monday the two latest invitees for the $10,000, winner-take-all, no-holds-barred Super Late Model All-Star Race.
Cassius Clark of Farmington, Maine and Johnny VanDoorn of Coopersville, Michigan have been invited to compete in the Speed51 Super Select. If they accept their invitations to join the Select Team, both drivers will receive a guaranteed starting spot, free entry and a free set of tires for the event.
Clark and VanDoorn each earned invitations for the Speed51 Super Select after scoring big Super Late Model wins during the last week.
Clark scored a $14,000 payday Saturday night when he won his fourth career Toromont Cat 250 at Scotia Speedworld in Nova Scotia. VanDoorn’s win came earlier in the week on Wednesday night when he was victorious in the ARCA/CRA Super Series portion of the Kalamazoo Klash at Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan.
The two drivers will have until Friday, August 17 to accept their invitation to compete in the race.
If Clark and VanDoorn accept their invites, they will join 20 of the nation’s top Super Late Model racers who have already filed entries for the Speed51 Super Select. The latest entry list for the race can be viewed now by clicking here.
A limited number of additional invites will be sent out to 2018 race winners prior to the Speed51 Super Select on September 8. Drivers who do not receive an invite are encouraged to file an entry for the 30-lap qualifying race, “The Open,” that will be held prior to the main event. An entry form for “The Open” race can be found by clicking here.
