Mercy Masters Of The Pros 144 Up Next For 16-Year-Old Kody Evans & DuroByte Motorsports

Buckeye State teenager hoping for strong run after last outing over a month ago

Corunna, Michigan (Wednesday, July 1, 2015): Led by Crew Chief, Jimmy D. Smith, DuroByte Motorsports has been a factor in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance since the 2013 racing season with Dominique Van Wieringen behind the wheel. During the 2015 racing season, 16-year-old Kody Evans, behind the wheel of the renumbered #4G machine sits 13th in the early season points standings. Nothing close to what the team has already accomplished so far during the year. Evans knows the team and himself as a driver are better than that.

The Camden, Ohio driver is ready to open the eyes of the racing world this Saturday, July 4th at the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile progressively banked paved oval of Lebanon I-44 Speedway. The immaculate facility, located southwest of St. Louis in Lebanon, Missouri will host one of the biggest Pro Late Model races in the country; the 3rd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pros 144. While a strong field of over 40 entries will be on hand, Evans knows he can make plenty of noise with a strong qualifying effort and an even stronger race.

“We’re all itching to get back on the track; this weather has taken its toll on everyone not just our team. We haven’t races since Columbus on May 23rd.” Stated the Buckeye State teenager as he and his team prepare for the road trip to the Show-Me State. “This is such a big race. So hopefully we can qualify our way in, have a solid finish and prepare for the next few back to back races we have. Now the schedule will start getting crazy with this race, Dixie and Anderson all on back to back to back weekends.” He added.

In Evans’ last race, over a month ago, at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH) back on May 23rd, Evans charged his way towards the front from his ninth starting position and was in the top five for the majority of the race before contact with another car knocked him out of the event with a broken axle. “After a solid run at Columbus the expectations are much higher for me. We didn’t get the finish we wanted but they knew we were there and that we’re coming. Hopefully we can show everyone what we’re really made of in Missouri” Evans ended.

For the remainder of the 2015 racing season, Evans’ #4G DuroByte Motorsports / Ford will carry sponsorship support and decals from Performance Transport as well as Adesa Auto Auctions, Nalett Trucking, L&T Clutches, Howe Racing Enterprises, JEGS.com, Keyser Manufacturing, Fastenal Corporation, Phil Harper Motorsports by Ilmor, AR Bodies, and M.P.H.
