Salem, IN. (July 18, 2019) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is ready to head south to Memphis International Raceway, located minutes outside of Memphis in Millington, Tennessee, for this Sunday’s $10,000 to Win Masters of the Pro’s 125. Sunday’s race will be the seventh edition of the Masters of the Pro’s, previous winners include Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competitor Chase Elliott in 2013, Anderson Bowen in 2014, current NASCAR Xfinity Series driver John Hunter Nemechek in 2015 and 2016, Cole Williams in 2017 and Bubba Pollard in 2018.
The 125-lap green flag event will pay a minimum $10,000 to win plus bonuses, making it one of the highest paying Pro/Crate Late Model events in the country. In addition, the winner will be awarded a signature green jacket, similar to the one that is known for adorning the champion of golf’s Masters event. The event will be an eight-tire max race, utilizing controlled cautions, with teams only allowed to change a max of two tires per yellow.
There will be a $1000 cash bonus to the highest finishing driver in the Masters of the Pro’s 125 who has never raced in the Masters of the Pro’s event prior to 2019. There will be a $1000 cash bonus to the Highest Finisher that has raced with the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour this year and a $1000 cash bonus to the Highest Finisher that has not raced with the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour this year.
The series had a special event non-points race at Memphis International Raceway on October 26th of 2013. Alabama’s Justin South came from the back of the field after a flat tire to get the win in that event over Colt James and Wille Allen.
Sunday’s event will be the series fifth event of the season, Johnny VanDoorn picked up the win in the series season opener at Birch Run Speedway on May 18th. Former NASCAR competitor Mike Skinner picked up the win in the series second event of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway on June 1st. Auburn, Indiana’s Hunter Jack got the win in the series third event of the season at Anderson Speedway on June 29th. Series all-time winner Brian Campbell picked up his 10th career series victory in the series last event at Baer Field Motorsports Park on July 6th.
Campbell tops the list of talented entries for Sunday’s event. Campbell’s 10 all time series wins leads 2012 Champion Daniel Hemric, current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie points leader and 2012 series Champion, who has eight wins. Campbell got the win in the ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Memphis International Raceway in 2013, so he does have experience at the .75 mile track. Campbell is second in ARCA/CRA Super Series all time wins.
Willie Allen is also entered for Sunday’s event, he is the only driver entered for Sunday’s event who competed in the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Memphis were he finished third. He also competed in the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Memphis where he finished in seventh. Allen competed in 29 NASCAR XFINITY Series events between the 2006 and 2014 season as well as competing in 33 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series events between 2005 and 2014.
Two-time Snowball Derby and three-time Snowflake winner Augie Grill is entered. Grill has numerous Super Late and Crate Late Model wins all over the south including winning the Alabama 200 Pro Late Model race at Montgomery Motor Speedway earlier this year, Sunday will be his first time ever racing with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour as he seeks his first CRA win.
Matt Wallace, son of former NASCAR competitor Mike Wallace is entered. Sunday will be Wallace’s third Masters of the Pro’s event he has raced in. He finished third in 2014 and second in 2015, both of those events were held at Lebanon I-44 Speedway.
2017 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Rookie of the Year Carson Hocevar is entered. He has four series victories to date including a rookie record of three in 2017. Hocevar is also competing part time with the ARCA Menards Series this year, including Friday’s race at Iowa Speedway.
Current series points leader Dan Leeck is entered, he was the series Champion in 2014 and has one series win to date. Second in points Mandy Chick is also entered, she is 24 points behind Leeck and is coming off an impressive fourth place finish in the US Short Track Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on June 1st. Third in points Trever McCoy is entered, as are leading series rookie Jaden Cretacci who is sixth in points and fellow rookie Tyler MacKenzie who is eighth in series points.
2017 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Josh Brock is entered, Brock won the North/South Late Model Shootout at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in April, it was his second victory with that series, he is seeking his first JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour win.
Four-time 2018 Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville Pro Late Model event winner Michael House is entered, Sunday will be his second series event, he also competed with the series at CRA SpeedFest 2019 were he got a 10th place finish. Fellow Nashville competitor Kyle Ivey is also entered in a car from Sterling Marlin Racing, Ivery went to victory lane earlier this season at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. Two other Nashville racers are entered, veteran Stacy Crain and teenager Kyle Fletcher.
15-year-old Sammy Smith from Iowa is entered for his third series event of the season. He led several laps in his series debut at Anderson before finishing fourth, he also finished fourth in the Baer Field event.
Texas racer Chris Davidson is entered to compete in his third Masters of the Pro’s event, he finished eighth in last years event at Birch Run Speedway and competed in the event in 2016.
Georgia racers Ryan Herbert and Jake Garcia are entered, the 14-year-old Garcia got his first Pro Late Model victory earlier this season at Crisp Motorsports Park and finished third at the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour Bristol event. Alabama veteran racer Bobby Reuse is also entered, he has three NASCAR XFINITY Series starts in 2014 and 2015 as well as two NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts in 2017 and 2018.
There will be an open practice on Saturday, July 20th with pits opening at 10am Central Time, open practice for the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour will go from 1 to 4pm. Pits open on Sunday, July 21st at 9am, a one-hour practice session will begin at 11:30am. Jerico Performance Products Qualifying will begin at 2:30pm, with a $200 bonus to the event’s Fast Qualifier. There will be an autograph session beginning at 3:30pm. The Masters of the Pro’s 125 will go green at 5pm.
