Salem, IN (March 13, 2017) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced that Lyons Truck & Trailer has agreed to be the sponsor of the Lyons Truck & Trailer Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR) Bonus Program for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS for the upcoming race season. 2017 will be the 12th season of competition for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series that started in 2006. Eddie Van Meter was the series 2016 Series Points Champion and the 2016 Lyons Truck & Trailer LOR Challenge Champion.
The Lyons Truck & Trailer LOR Bonus Program will include a $500 winner’s bonus for both the 2017 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Lucas Oil Raceway events on the schedule. The first event will be on Sunday, April 2nd as part of the 8th Annual Cabin Fever Championships, the season opener for the CRA Late Model Sportsman. The second event will be the CRA Fall Brawl event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 23rd and 24th. The winner of both of those events will take home $1,500, with the added $500 bonus from Lyons Truck & Trailer.
The driver getting the most points in the two events will be the Champion of the Lyons Truck & Trailer LOR Challenge and will receive a $500 cash bonus from Lyons Truck & Trailer. The Lyons Truck & Trailer LOR Challenge Points Champion will be honored at the 2017 CRA Awards Banquet.

The 8th Annual Cabin Fever Championships will take place on Sunday, April 2nd at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway located in Brownsburg, Indiana. The event will feature racing from the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks, the NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour and the Vores Compact Touring Series.
Fans will be treated to 170 laps of feature racing action on Sunday, April 2nd with 40 lap features for the CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks, plus a 40 lap feature event for the NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour and the 30 lap Vores Cup feature for the Vores Compact Touring Series and the 20 lap Vores Compact Touring Series B Feature.
CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks teams that have not registered for the 2017 season can do so by purchasing their 2017 CRA License. Any team competing for 2017 Season Championship points must have purchased a license. Licensed members received discounts on all event racecar entry fees and are eligible for all event and season Contingency Awards. 2017 CRA License Forms are available on the CRA web site.
The 8th Annual Cabin Fever Championships will start with an open practice on Saturday, April 1st, pit gates open at 11am, open practice will go from 1 to 5pm with rotating sessions for all four divisions. Pit gates open on Sunday morning at 8am, practice will begin at 10am with qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2:00pm with any last chance races that are needed, and will be followed by the 170 laps of feature racing.
