Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County Debuts on Friday

Series will involve the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks

Salem, Indiana (Tuesday, April 21, 2015): The Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series presented by Visit Hendricks County will make its season debut this Friday, April 24th on the historic 0.686-mile oval located in Brownsburg, Indiana, just West of Indianapolis. The six-race stock car series will crown year-end track champions in the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS, Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS and the Vore’s Compact Touring Series (VCTS).

 

“Race fans and drivers enjoy the thrilling and competitive nature of our short track races,” said Randy Simpson, general manager of Lucas Oil Raceway. “As a multipurpose facility, we pride ourselves on hosting a wide variety of races on a regular basis. Since the announcement of our new oval series, we’ve been counting down the days until the green flag waves on what will be an exciting 2015 season.”

 

The series was supposed to have started with the 6th Annual Cabin Fever Championships on March 29, but that event had to be canceled because of weather. The series will include three more Friday night shows on May 8, July 3 and July 31. The series will then culminate with two Sunday afternoon races, including the Fall Brawl on September 27 and Track Championship Sunday on October 18. Friday’s events and the October 18th events will be for Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series points only, the other dates will be both CRA Championship points and Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series points.

 

Lucas Oil Raceway will award each Lucas Oil Raceway Stock Car Series Champion with a trophy as well as several year-end product awards. The Lucas Oil Raceway CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stock Champions will each receive a Holley Carburetor of their choice. The CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion will receive a $900 Product Certificate and the CRA Street Stock Champion a free Nose or Tail from Five Star Stock Car Bodies. Each Champion will receive a $50 Product Certificate from Landrum Performance Springs.

 

In addition to the regular event Contingency Awards from CRA, Lucas Oil Raceway will award several event Contingency Awards as well. Scorpion Racing Products will award a plaque to each division’s Fast Qualifier and a $100 Product Certificate to each division’s event winner. Five Star Stock Car Bodies will Award each CRA Late Model Sportsman event winner with a $100 Product Certificate. Landrum Performance Springs will award a $50 Product Certificate to each division’s event winner.

 

Friday’s event will have a different schedule of events than the other Friday night shows, with the Cabin Fever cancelation, the Vore’s Cup event for the Vores Compact Touring Series was added to Friday night’s show, and is expected to bring in close to 50 FWD Compacts. With that addition, pit gates open on Friday at 12noon with an open practice for all three divisions from 2 to 4pm. Teams wanting to participate in that open practice will have to be in the track and unloaded by 2pm. The track gates will not be opened until the open practice concludes.

 

Gates will then reopen at 4pm for any additional teams to come in and unload. The events practice and qualifying will begin at 5:45pm. The race program is set to begin at 7:45 and will include 8 lap heat races and 30 lap features for the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks. The Vores Compact Touring Series will have their 30 lap Vore’s Cup Feature and their 20 lap Lawrence Towing B Feature.

 

The May 8, July 3 and July 31events will have a much more condensed schedule of events with pit gates opening at 5pm, practice and qualifying at 6:30pm and racing at 7:45pm.

 

General admission adult tickets for Friday will be $15, kids 12 and under will get in free. The event will feature free parking. A $20 ticket upgrade will be available for indoor seating to watch from a skybox. Skyboxes do not include catering.  Pit Passes are $30 for drivers and crew.
