Lebanon I-44 Speedway Announces 2017 “Masters of the Pro’s” 144 Date

Salem, IN. (November 15, 2016) – Lebanon I-44 Speedway Officials have announced the date for the 2017 “Masters of the Pro’s” 144, that JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event will take place on Saturday, June 3rd. The 144 lap event will pay $8000 to win plus bonuses, making it one of the highest paying crate late model events in the country again in 2017, plus the winner will be awarded a signature green jacket, similar to the one that is known for adorning the champion of golf’s Masters event.

2017 will be the fifth addition of the “Masters of the Pro’s” 144, which always attracts a stellar field of cars including many of the top late model drivers from around  the country, the best of CRA and the best local talent from the Lebanon, Missouri racetrack. In the 2016 “Masters of the Pro’s” 144, a series and event record 43 cars were on the property for the event, with 42 of those cars taking a qualifying lap.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competitor Chase Elliott won the inaugural “Masters of the Pro’s” 144 in 2013. Georgia teenager Anderson Bowen won the 2014 addition. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor John Hunter Nemechek, son of NASCAR competitor Joe Nemechek, won both the 2015 and 2016 events.

With NASCAR moving its Kansas Speedway Sprint Cup Series event to Saturday, May 13th in 2017 and it being Mother’s Day Weekend, Lebanon I-44 Speedway Officials felt it was best to find a new date for the event rather than try to have both events compete on the same night, giving local race fans an opportunity to enjoy both events on separate weekends. More event information will be released at a later date.

The Management Team at Lebanon I-44 Speedway values the partnership with CRA and its JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and looks forward to having them back in 2017. The race not only benefits drivers across the Country, but they feel the City of Lebanon and surrounding communities get great benefit from the out of town race teams and fans that come to the event.

“It’s been exciting to help build such a nationally significant event with the folks at Lebanon I-44 Speedway,” remarked R.J. Scott, Managing Partner with CRA. “With the top pay day for crate late model racers and an always great crowd, nobody could ask for more!”
