Salem, IN (June 28, 2018) – The Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Saturday at Baer Field Motorsports Park, located just south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Saturday’s event will be the series eighth all time event at Baer Field Motorsports Park, Brian Hopkins won the first series event at Baer Field in 2006 and won the series event there in 2011. Other series winners at Bear Field include Steve Christman twice in 2007, Bret Miles Jr. in 2008, Winston Wood in 2009 and Austin Coe in last year’s 50 lap feature.
Saturday’s event will be the fifth point’s event of the season for the CRA Street Stocks. Hudson’s won the Shadybowl Speedway season opener, which was also the first Five Crown Series event on April 21st. Kentucky native Chuck Barnes Jr. won his second straight EDCO 50 at the Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway on May 20th. Blake Hillard won the series event on June 3rd at Salem Speedway. Josh Poore won the series last event, the second event of the Five Crown Series at Anderson Speedway on June 16th. Hudson, Barnes Jr. and Poore are locked into the series Championship Chase if they compete in at least 70% of the series events leading up to the season ending four Chase events.
Hudson is the series current Championship point’s leader after four events. Nathan Greene is in second, he is 44 points behind Hudson. Jake McElfresh is in third place, he is four points behind Greene. James Kirby III and J.J. Schafer are tied for fourth place, they are two points behind McElfresh.
There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 4pm, open practice will go from 5pm until 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 10:30am, the series will have two 20 minute practice sessions at 1:45pm and at 3:10pm. Allstar Performance Qualifying will take place at 4pm. The race program is set to begin at 6pm and will include the Lawrence Towing CRA Street Stocks in a 75 lap feature on the Baer Field 3/8’s mile track. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be part of the race program Saturday night in the Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales 100 Presented by JEGS.com. Also in action will be the Baer Field Late Models, Modifieds, Stock FWD’s and Outlaw FWD’s.
