Indianapolis, Indiana (Thursday, May 14, 2015): The National Pain Foundation in partnership with the Indiana Health Industry Forum is proud to announce that Mark Lambert will champion the voice of people with pain as he races the #18 Global Pain Initiative / Indiana Health Industry Forum ARCA/CRA Super Series car for the 2015 season.
The half green – half purple livery was recently revealed at the IHIF’s Annual Members meeting and reflects the hands in the Global Pain Initiative logo. The green hand represents people with pain while the purple hand is for healthcare providers, coming together to treat pain represented by the flame.
The National Pain Foundation is launching the Global Pain Initiative to build the largest digital community of people in pain. As the #1 reason why people go see a doctor, affecting more people than diabetes, heart disease, and cancer combined, the pain community is in crisis and there is simply not enough information to create the necessary change. The GPI is asking the greatest fans in the world – race fans, to join the Initiative by telling them their story at www.GlobalPainInitiative.org.
Lambert, a native of Noblesville, Indiana will also represent the Indiana Health Industry Forum. With over 130 members, the IHIF is a statewide trade association representing members of Indiana’s health science business community. The diverse members of the Indiana Health Industry Forum generate the collective voice of the state’s health and life science industry. Their mission is to connect key stakeholders to: enhance business networks, advocate for member interests, develop workforce skills, and provide strategic vision in the interest of growing the state’s health industry economy and reputation.
Lambert is the 2013 CRA Sportsman Late Model Champion and Most Popular Driver as voted by the fans. Greg Van Alst, who served as Lambert’s race strategist in 2013 and then went on to win the same championship as a driver in 2014, will resume his role as race strategist for the purple and green #18 that will be campaigned by Greg Van Alst Motorsports based in Anderson, Indiana.
Lambert commented, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to make a difference with a race program like this. I think this is a really neat deal and not your typical sponsor you see on a race car. So I’m interested to hear from the fans and see their reaction. I know there will be a lot of questions – and that’s good, because the Global Pain Initiative is about making a difference and we can‘t do that unless the fans get involved.”
Dr. Dan Bennett, Chairman of the National Pain Foundation, echoed Lambert’s remarks, “The Global Pain Initiative is dedicated to people with pain. Pain is personal. It’s unique to every person and it’s that very reason that we as healthcare providers desperately need information. So we are here to ask fans to tell us their story, let us take notes so that we can change the way people in pain are treated. We are very excited about having Mark drive for us, to champion this cause and to partner with the IHIF to make a difference not only in Indiana but globally.”
