Salem, IN (August 1, 2019) – The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS will return to action this Sunday in the middle of a very busy three week stretch for the series, with the first ever series event at Kil-Kare Raceway, located just outside of Xenia, Ohio. The event will be a co-promotion between CRA, the Vores Compact Touring Series and Shadybowl Speedway promoter Rick Young. This will be the only racing event on the oval track at Kil-Kare Raceway in 2019.
Sunday will be the seventh event of the 2019 season for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks, who opened their 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 13th, were Bret Miles Jr. got the victory. Chuck Barnes Jr. won the second event of the season on June 1st at Bristol Motor Speedway. Atkinson picked up the win at the series third event of the season on June 29th at Baer Field Motorsports Park. Ryan Amonett got the win in the series fourth event of the season, the non-points $5,000 to win Crown Jewel event at Baer Field on July 6th. Ben Tunney won the series Four Crown opener at the Indianapolis Speedrome on July 14th, the fifth event of the season for the series. Amonett returned to victory lane in this past Sunday’s second Four Crown event at Mt. Lawn Speedway, Amonett is the first driver with two series wins this season.
2014 and 2015 Series Champion Atkinson comes into Sunday’s event as the series points leader and with his win at Baer Field is locked into the series 2019 Chase for the Championship. Andrew Teepe is now second in points, he is 37 points behind Atkinson. Jacob McElfresh is third in points, he is 10 points behind Teepe. J.J. Schafer is fourth in points, he is 34 points behind McElfresh. Daniel Adams is fifth in series points, he is 56 points behind Schafer.
There is an open practice at Kil-Kare Raceway this Thursday evening from 4 to 8pm. On Sunday, pit gates open at 12noon. Practice will begin at 1:30pm. Qualifying will begin at 3:45pm. The race program is set to begin at 5pm and will include the 75 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks feature event. Sunday’s racing program will also include the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman versus the Shadybowl Speedway Late Models 75 lap Challenge event and the Vores Compact Touring Series with a 30 lap feature. There will be a 100 lap Compact/FWD Endure Feature to conclude the racing action Sunday.
