Veterans Chuck Barnes Jr., & Mike Slone, along-with teenagers, Trey Craig & Cole Rouse to fly the KCM colors in Missouri
Rolla, Missouri (Tuesday, June 30, 2015): Kevin Crider Motorsports is based in Rolla, Missouri, about 50 minutes from Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri. With the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval the only pavement track located within the Show Me State, any race there is a ‘home game’ for Crider’s stable of teams and drivers within it. On July 4th, it’ll be the biggest home game of all for Crider and his entire racing operation.
One of the biggest Pro Late Model races in the country just happens to be in Crider’s backyard. The 3rd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pros 144 is set for Saturday, July 4th at his home track. Crider is coming with all barrels loaded as he will be towing four cars to the event in an effort to keep the Green Jacket in Missouri. Led by former ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, Chuck Barnes Jr., Crider will also have former two-time track champion, Mike Slone and two teenagers in 18-year-old Trey Craig and 17-year-old Cole Rouse.
“I’m very excited to have all of my guy’s together running this close to home. Usually we are the ones traveling six plus hours to get to the track. The extra prep time not having to travel is much needed since we are debuting another new KCM Chassis for this race.” Explained Crider as he hopes to stop the two race winning streak laid down by Georgia drivers in the first two editions of the 144-lap affair. “We’re been waiting for this race since the postponement back in May. I’m excited and this whole team is ready.” He added.
“I’m definitely excited to be coming back to Lebanon I-44 Speedway. We had a good run there a couple years back, and we’re looking forward to improving on that.” Added Barnes Jr., the 33-year-old driver from Louisville, Kentucky. “It’s also great having a couple team mates there to lean on and bounce ideas off of. I know (Mike) Slone has made tons of laps there and so has Cole (Rouse). Plus Trey (Craig) will be learning right with me. I’m hoping for a good run in the KCM house car there this weekend.” He added.
Slone, the 2010 and 2012 track champion is also excited about the stellar field that will be making the trip to the Show-Me State.”We have been working really hard in the shop on the new KCM house car preparing for this event. I-44 is my home track and one of the best race tracks in the country.” Offered the 38-year-old Rolla, Missouri native who won the Fast Qualifier award and grabbed the Feature win on the same night back on May 23rd. “I’m really looking forward to a good run and making some laps in the new car.”
KCM and LFR (Leavitt Fuller Racecars) Chassis formed a partnership with LFR Chassis coming out of KCM’s Rolla, Missouri headquarters. LFR Chassis was formed in early 2014 by Rob Fuller and Steve Leavitt to take late model and modified chassis to the next level. The initial year of the company has been a banner year with five wins and multiple podium finishes across modified and late model divisions. The shop in North Carolina has recently expanded and groundbreaking for the Massachusetts facility is set for 2015.
All of the LFR by KCM Chassis’ are built in LFR’s North Carolina facility, and delivered to Missouri for final assembly. The LFR/KCM chassis are assembled using only the best component available and will offer technical support that is second to none. KCM plans to exclusively run LFR Chassis in 2015 and beyond for its house cars and will compete in several touring series throughout the country.
