Salem, IN. (October 3, 2016) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will close out their sixth season of competition this Friday on the famous High Banks of Winchester Speedway, helping kickoff the big 45th Annual Winchester 400 Weekend. A talented field of 28 teams is currently entered to compete in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com on Friday evening. That event will be the ninth point’s event of the 2016 season for the series after losing four events to weather.
Series point’s leader Cody Coughlin, the series 2013 Champion, tops the list of CRA regulars entered for Friday’s event. Coughlin needs to only present a car for tech on Friday to claim the 2016 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship. Coughlin has two series wins so far this season including Salem Speedway on June 18th and Anderson Speedway on July 23rd. Coughlin is also the points leader in the ARCA/CRA Super Series were he has a series leading four wins so far this season. Coughlin is looking to become the only driver to ever claim both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championships in the same season.
There are still several close point battles to be decided on Friday night, Brandon Oakley comes into Friday night second in points, he claimed his first series win at Winchester on Labor Day Weekend. Oakley has a 35 point lead over third place Phil Bozell. Austin Kunert is in fourth place, he is only four points behind Bozell. Dakota Stroup is in fifth place, he is only eight points behind Kunert. Leading VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie Jack Dossey III is in sixth place, he is 19 points behind Stroup. Defending event winner Jack Smith is in seventh, he is five points behind Dossey III. Rookie Joshua James is in eighth, he is only 13 points behind Dossey III in Championship points and is second in the Rookie of the Year standings. Third through eight in points are only separated by 49 points. All the top eight are entered for Friday night’s event.

Other top CRA drivers entered include Andy Bozell, rookie Michael Clancy Jr., Tristan Van Wieringen, Scott Tomasik, former event winner and two time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden, Owosso Speedway event winner Travis Eddy, 2014 series Champion Dan Leeck, Ben Welch, Jon Beach, 2016 CRA Late Model Sportsman Series Champion Eddie Van Meter, Colin Nickolai and three time 2016 CRA Street Stock winner Austin Coe.
Three time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion and former Winchester 400 winner Scott Hantz is entered to make his series debut. Two time Vore’s Welding Late Model Sportsman Series Champion Keith Sterkowitz is also entered to make his series debut. Florida racer Stephen Nasse is entered to race in the Rick Turner owned #51N. Former series full-time competitor Cole Rouse is entered, Rouse has been competing full-time in the NASCAR K & N West Pro Series this season. Columbus Motor Speedway feature winner David Carter is entered in a team car with Eddy. Fellow Columbus competitor Jamie Hunt is entered to make his second appearance with series. James Krueger is also entered to make his second appearance with the series. Dirt Sprint Car racer Cody Gallogally is entered to make his series debut.
Things begin for the Winchester 400 Weekend with an optional load in, hauler parking and pit pass purchases on Thursday, October 6th from 3 to 7pm. Pits open on Friday, October 7th at 9am with rotating practice for all divisions beginning at 1pm. Second round practice and Group Qualifying for the Vore’s Touring Compacts and the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks New Star events will start at 4:10pm, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Boyne Machine qualifying will start at 6:15pm. Racing action will begin at 7pm with 8 lap heat races for the Vores Touring Compacts. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Season Championship Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com will be up next. The CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks 25 lap New Star features will follow. The Vores Touring Compacts 25 lap feature will cap off the nights racing action.
Pits open on Saturday, October 8th at 8:30am, rotating practice for all divisions will begin at 11am. Second round practice and Group Qualifying CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks will begin at 2pm. Qualifying for the Top Speed Modifieds Run for the Gun will start at 3:30pm, EDCO Welding Pole Qualifying for the 45th Annual Winchester 400 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series will begin at 4:15pm. The race program will begin at 5pm with Top Speed Modifieds Last Chance races. The 50 lap CRA Late Model Sportsman Series Season Championship event will be up next. The Top Speed Modifieds 50 lap Run for the Gun will follow. The 50 lap CRA Street Stocks Season Championship event will cap off this huge night of racing. The Annual Winchester 400 Party in the Pavilion will start in immediately following the races with live music.
On Sunday, October 9th pits will open at 9am. There will be an on track autograph session with all the 45th Annual Winchester 400 drivers starting at 12:30. Opening ceremonies will begin at 1:30 pm with the 45th Annual Winchester 400 taking the green flag at 2pm.
