One of Four CRA Feature Events With the McGunegill Engine Performance CRA Fall Brawl 2015
Salem, Indiana (Wednesday, September 23, 2015): All four Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS divisions will be in action this weekend in the McGunegill Engine Performance CRA Fall Brawl 2015 at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway located just outside of Indianapolis in Brownsburg, Indiana. The Champion Racing Association promoted Fall Brawl has become a very popular stock car racing event in central Indiana with each feature winner getting an event signature trophy that includes a pair of boxing gloves. The four CRA divisions include the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS and the Stealth Trailers CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will compete in the Stacked Pickle 100 Presented by Advanced Racing Suspensions on Sunday afternoon. That event will be the 10th event of the 2015 season for the series and the second to last event, the series will finish its 2015 season on Friday, October 9th at Winchester Speedway as part of the 44th Annual Winchester 400 Weekend.
Topping the list of entries for Sunday’s Stacked Pickle 100 Presented by Advanced Racing Suspensions is Dalton Armstrong, the series current driver point’s leader after nine events, he won the series season opener at Springport Motor Speedway back on May 3rd, his first ever CRA win, and won the August 8th event at Auto City Speedway. Armstrong is the only driver so far this season with more than one series points win. 2013 and 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Travis Braden is also entered driving for the Bill Burba Motorsports Team, who is the current series owner point’s leader. Braden has driven the last seven races for that team after Mike Stacy competed in the first two series events of the season. Burba’s team has a 14 point lead in the owner’s points over Scott Neal Racing.
Series veteran Josh Nelms is also entered, he is currently second in driver points after getting his first series win on May 23rd at Columbus Motor Speedway. Nelms is 45 points behind Armstrong in series driver points and his TK Racing team is third in owner points. VanDoorn Racing Development Rookie driver Quinnton Bear is also entered, he is third in driver points with a season high finish of second at the series Dixie Motor Speedway event and backed that up with a strong second place finish in the ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Kalamazoo Speedway on August 12th.
Other top series drivers entered include Winchester Speedway Labor Day Weekend series event winner Jack Smith, father and son Andy and Phil Bozell who are coming off their best series finishes at Springport last Saturday, Canadian brothers Marc and Jaxson Jacobs, rookie Austin Kunert, D.J. Weltmeyer, Jerry Andrews, Canadian Tristan Van Wieringen, Kyle Hayden and ARCA/CRA Super Series veteran driver Rick Turner and fellow Super Series veteran Eddie Van Meter, who picked up his first series win in his first series start at Anderson Speedway on July 17th.
CRA Late Model Sportsman competitor Trey Craig who won a CRA Late Model Sportsman Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway last season is entered. Scotty Tomasik, winner of a CRA Late Model Sportsman event at Anderson Speedway in June, is also entered, Tomasik got a big win in the Tony Bettenhausen Memorial at Illiana Motor Speedway last Saturday night.
There will be plenty of other top competition for this weekend’s event including former ARCA/CRA Super Series regular Kenzie Ruston, who won an ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Lucas Oil Raceway on October 2, 2011, Ruston competes full-time in the NASCAR K & N Pro Series. Also entered is 2015 Columbus Motor Speedway Late Model Champion Kyle Jones, former Illiana Motor Speedway Champion Jeff Cannon, Michigan driver Chris Koslek who finished second in last Saturday’s series event at Springport Motor Speedway, Columbus Motor Speedway Modified Champion Kyle Purvis, Berlin Raceway Modified Champion Ben Welch, former Columbus Late Model and Modified Champion Chad Pendleton. Also Michigan racers Jerry Andrews and Nate Walton are entered as his Illinois dirt racer Dave Polek, who is entered to make his CRA debut.
The MEP CRA Fall Brawl 2015 gets started on Saturday, with the pit gates opening at 9:00am. Practice starts at 12:30pm for all four CRA divisions and the Vores Compact Touring Series. The CRA Late Model Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks and Vores Compacts will use group qualifying in their second practice session to set their feature line-ups for Sunday, while the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will do individual qualifying starting at 5:30 on Saturday to set their Sunday feature line-ups.
On Sunday, the pit gates open at 9:00am., with the Drivers Meetings starting at 11:00am. There is an Autograph Session with all the drivers competing in Sunday’s events for the fans, then after Pre-Race Ceremonies, racing gets going at 1:00pm., with Last Chance Races (if needed) followed by 310 laps of Feature racing.
