Nashville, TN – Fresh off a season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance that brought him his first career win in the United States, Canada’s Chase Pinsonneault is preparing for one of the biggest Template Late Model weekends of the year at Five Flag Speedway in Pensacola, FL. Pinsonneault is set to unload his US 131 Motorsports Park No.14 for the Snowflake 100 as part of the 57th Snowball Derby weekend.
Pinsonneault is on the current entry list for the Snowflake 100 alongside 50 other drivers from all across the country who are hoping to make the field of 34 for the Saturday, December 7th show. The start will be Pinsonneault’s first as part of the Snowball Derby weekend, however, the Carson Hocevar Racing driver has turned in impressive performances throughout the season. In April, Pinsonneault opened the season with a 9th-place finish before returning for another top 10 in May. The team spent the summer committed to the JEGS Tour but returned to 5 Flags in September for their best showing finishing 7th after starting 16th.
The Rookie of the Year campaign for Pinsonneault was nearly a championship-winning season. Going into the final points-paying event at Winchester Speedway, Pinsonneault had a real mathematical chance to overtake Blake Rowe for the title, however, the cards fell Rowe’s way forcing Pinsonneault to settle for second in the overall standings – which was good enough for the Rookie of the Year honors.
Only two times throughout his JEGS Tour campaign did Pinsonneault finish outside the top 10 (during points-paying events). A crash at Anderson Speedway credited him with a 17th place finish and a power steering issue at Owosso scored him in 13th. Aside from that, Pinsonneault was in the hunt every week, including when he collected the richest win of his career in the $10K to win Big O Classic 100 at Owosso Speedway. In total, Pinsonneault put together a season that included nine Top 10s, five Top 5s, and The Big O Classic win.
The JEGS Tour Rookie of the Year will compete on Saturday, December 7th for the Allen Turner Snowflake 100. Qualifying is set to begin at 3:00 PM CT with the top 30 cars locked in on speed. If needed, the Last Chance Qualifier will be 50 laps taking the top four. The Allen Turner Snowflake 100 is set for 7:00 PM CT Saturday night.
