JEGS Tour Kicks Off Winchester 400 Weekend Friday, Champion to be Crowned

Winchester, IN – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will again have the honor of kicking off the 54th Winchester 400 weekend on Friday, October 10th. The Winchester 100 serves as the nightcap for the opening night of racing at the “World’s Fastest Half Mile”.

Alongside the regular competitors with the JEGS Tour, a few well-recognized names in late model racing will start their weekend on Friday night. Carson Brown, the New London, NC native, is back in the PayCafe No.81 looking for redemption from last year’s Winchester 100. He and Stephen Nasse made contact in the late stages of the race, resulting in both drivers going to the tail of the field after Nasse spun on the frontstretch. The incident handed the race lead over to Kyle Crump, who went on to collect the win.

Nasse is entered in the field for Friday as well. The two-time Winchester 400 Champion has only captured the Winchester 100 one time, back in 2019, prior to his first 400 title. Defending race winner, Kyle Crump, is also set to return to Winchester Speedway on Friday – the caveat is, he’ll be racing the RMD Racing No.131, rather than the EDCO Racing No.23 that he won last year’s event in.

ENTRY LIST

The 2025 JEGS Tour Championship will be settled on Friday night as well. After a full season of back-and-forth racing, Indianapolis, Indiana’s, Billy VanMeter has one job on Friday night – start the Winchester 100. Once he does that, he’ll wrap up the Season Championship over Chris Shannon. A blown motor at Auto City Speedway in August put Shannon behind the eight-ball. Although Shannon was able to race in the event, they missed valuable practice time, qualifying, and trailed VanMete,r who won the race. VanMeter also outperformed Shannon in the Owosso Nationals at Owosso Speedway in September to open his gap in the Championship hunt. The title will be VanMeter’s first career Championship. VanMetere will become the 10th different JEGS Tour Champion since 2011.

The Winchester 100 at Winchester Speedway for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is Friday, October 10th alongside the Vore’s Welding Compact Touring Series and Thunder Roadsters. General Admission gates open at 1:30 PM with JEGS Tour Qualifying at 6:00 PM followed by an autograph session at 6:30 PM and racing at 7:00 PM. Advanced tickets and more information are available at Winchester-Speedway.com.
