Salem, IN. (May 10, 2016) –Officials from Lebanon I-44 Speedway in conjunction with the officials of the JEGS/CRA All-Star Series Presented by Chevrolet Performance, have announced a great new addition to this weekend’s Champion Racing Oil “Masters of the Pro’s 144”. For those teams that may have had bad luck or just may have missed the setup in the qualifying rounds, thanks to JEGS there will be one last opportunity to earn a Masters check before they go home. The JEGS Challenge offers a 30 lap Saturday night short track battle that allows those 10 plus cars not in the “Masters” to “Challenge” for $1000 to win and $200 to start. The JEGS Challenge winner will also receive a guaranteed start in the 2017 Champion Racing Oil “Masters of the Pro’s 144”.
“We just hated to have so many teams be here and not have a chance to race in a feature event,” remarked Kevin Greven, General Manager at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. “This gives those teams an opportunity to race and earn a little more money. We really appreciate JEGS stepping up to support this new exciting event with the Champion Racing Oil ‘Masters of the Pro’s 144’.”
The entry list for Champion Racing Oil “Masters of the Pro’s 144” has now grown to 44 entries. The 144 lap event will pay $8000 to win plus bonuses, making it one of the highest paying crate late model events in the country, plus the winner will be awarded a signature green jacket, similar to the one that is known for adorning the champion of golf’s Masters event.
The entry list is full of talent from all over the country including defending winner John Hunter Nemechek, also Bubba Pollard, Sterling Marlin, Cody Coughlin, Travis Braden, John Van Doorn, Chuck Barnes Jr., Matt Wallace, Casey Roderick, Cole Williams, Bret Holmes, Chris Davidson, Jack Smith, Quinnton Bear, Stephen Nasse and Justin South. Several of the best local racers are also entered including former track Champions JC Newell and Kaleb Allison along with Cole Rouse, Brennon Willard, Kyle Donahue, Kevin Donahue and David Wood.
The top 20 in Boyne Machine qualifying will be locked into the Champion Racing Oil “Masters of the Pros” 144 with the Boyne Machine Fast Qualifier drawing the invert, which could be a five through a possible ten. Positions 21 through 24 will come from the top four teams in 2015 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Owner Points not already locked into the show. Positions 25 through 28 will come from either one or two 15 lap Last Chance races. The remaining teams will race in the 30 lap JEGS Challenge.
Cautions will count in the first 100 laps of the Champion Racing Oil “Masters of the Pros” 144, the last 44 will be all green flag laps. There will be a 10 minute break at lap 100 of the event, were teams can change up to two tires, the cars will be relined up for the final 44 lap shootout by how many tires they change.
