Salem, IN (September 10, 2021) – Butler, Indiana teenager Tanner Jack currently leads the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award Points with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance heading into the series final two events of the 2021 season. The 2020 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Rookie of the Year is also one of the five series drivers in the 2021 Chase for the Championship, which will be cut to four drivers after the series Fall Brawl event at Lucas Oil Raceway on October 2nd. The final four Chase for the Championship drivers will compete in the series Season Championship event at Winchester Speedway on October 15th, with the highest finisher of the four being crowned the 2021 series Champion.
The highest finishing registered rookie driver at the end of the season in Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year points with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be awarded the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year award. That racer will receive a $500 cash award and a $500 Product Certificate from Senneker Performance. Senneker Performance will also provide a $200 Product Certificate to the runner up in Rookie of the Year points and a $100 Product Certificate to the third-place finisher in final Rookie of the Year points. The drivers in the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year points get to drop their worse two finishes during the 2021 season for the final Rookie of the Year point’s total.
Jack has built his lead with consistent top ten finishes in 2021. Jack has six top ten finishes in the series seven events to date in 2021. Jack’s best finish to date was a fifth-place finish at the Kil-Kare Raceway event in June against a tough group of local drivers, he also has two eighth place finishes, two ninth place finishes and one 10th place finish with only one DNF so far this season. Jack has been the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Race Award winner a series leading four times so far this season.
Kent City, Michigan teenager Andrew Scheid is currently second in the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award Points to date. Scheid had a terrible streak of bad luck that included four straight DNF’s to start the season. After the team sat out the Masters of the Pros event in July, they came back with a purpose to turn their season around in the second half of the season and they have accomplished that and more. Scheid got a series high finish of fifth at the Birch Run Speedway event on July 31st. Scheid followed that up with a third-place overall finish in the Battle at Berlin 150 at Berlin Raceway on August 21st, running in the top of the field throughout the event and finished second with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour cars in that event by just a few feet to series all-time wins leader Brian Campbell. Scheid was the Senneker Performance Rookie of the Race Award at Birch Run and Berlin. Scheid is also one of the five series drivers in the 2021 Chase for the Championship
Jack and Scheid will battle over the series last two events for the coveted Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award, which could go down to the last lap of the Season Championship event at Winchester. Indiana racer Brian Demland is currently third in Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award, unfortunately his 2021 season ended at Berlin after suffering engine failure.
