Salem, IN (October 31, 2019) – Jack Dossey III finished his first full season with the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS, a season that had big goals and expectations from a very driven driver and a team comprised of Jack Dossey III’s family, friends, and a handful of race day hired crew after some drastic changes to his team for their rookie campaign with the series. The team accomplished their goal of claiming the 2019 Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award and finished fourth in the series 2019 ARCA/CRA Super Series Chase for the Championship.
For their hard work and never give up attitude, the Jack Dossey III Motorsports team has been named the ARCA/CRA Super Series 2019 Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Year Award winners. The team led by Jack Dossey III as his own crew chief, gave 100% each week and more, to keep themselves competitive at each series event and went way above to win the Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award two times during the 2019 season, tied with Jett Motorsports for the most of any team in the series during the season.
The team received their first Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award in the series season points opener at Anderson Speedway on April 5th, were Dossey III got his first ever series win at his home track, were he had multiple track Championships. Dossey III and his team had a great race car for their first series event with the revamped team and Dossey III as his own crew chief. Dossey III patiently waited to make the winning pass on Brett Robinson lap 95 of the 125 Lap event and never looked back to grab the win in what was truly a team effort.
The team’s second Pitboxes.com Pit Crew of the Race Award came at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend after the team had to pull their car out of impound for repairs to get their car back in race shape Sunday night and Monday morning after Dossey III made hard contact with the turn two wall on his second lap of qualifying Sunday afternoon. Dossey III started at the tail of the field and worked his way through the field to get a fourth-place finish in that event.
“This award is a really big deal for us,” remarked Dossey III. “We got put in a situation forcing our hand to make a lot of changes to our crew just a few weeks before heading to South Alabama for our first race this season, with me stepping up to carry the driver and crew chief roll last minute, it was really a matter of stepping up or stepping out for my guys, and they all did a phenomenal job through all the circumstances. My dad, AJ Fairchild, Pete Harlow, Kenny Etter, Mike Alcorn, Brad Dickey, Bill Whitley, John Turner, Jason Neal and Derrick Layne and even my mom, Jennifer and my girlfriend Kelsey, really stepped up to the plate and made this season and all our accomplishments possible. Although we had some misfortune this year, we came and earned what we sought out for and I couldn’t be prouder of them and all that they’ve learned in 2019, along with myself as well. I want to really thank Pitboxes.com and CRA for recognizing our team for that.”
“We really appreciate Ricky Sanders at PitBoxes.com coming up with this great award,” remarked Glenn Luckett, Managing Partner with CRA. “Ricky wanted to create an award that recognized the people behind the drivers in our series. The drivers get recognition at each race, but with the Pitboxes.com Pit Crew Awards for each series event and the season, a lot of the hard working crew members for the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams get recognized also.”
Luckett added, “The Jack Dossey III Motorsports team worked hard to get their car to the track and prepared for each race, but they also had a never give up attitude, no matter what happened to their cars in a race, they would work to get their car better and help Jack get a good finish. We appreciate all their efforts this season!”
